2022 Haruku Island Riot
2022 Haruku Island riot ( id, Kerusuhan Pulau Haruku 2022) was a riot that occurred on 26 January 2022, a riot between villagers of Kariu village and Pelauw village as well Ori village in Haruku Island, Central Maluku Regency. The riot was caused by a dispute over land borders close to the boundaries between the villages. Three people died in the riot and 211 houses burned down. Additionally, four people were injured. Hundreds of villagers took refuge in nearby forests following the violence. This riot is also between villages with different religions (Pelauw and Ori residents are predominantly Islam, Kariu residents are predominantly Protestant) but local religious leaders denied and stated that the riot was not a religious conflict. Haruku Island is an island in Central Maluku Regency, Maluku Province, Indonesia - lying east of Ambon Island, off the southern coast of Seram and just west of Saparua. Southeast Maluku Riot
2022 Southeast Maluku riot were riots that occurred on 6 October and 12 November 2022 in Southeast Maluku Regency, Maluku. This riot involved three villages ( Kei: ''ohoi'') in Kei Besar District, namely the villages of Bombai and Ngurdu with the Elat village. Background The clashes between residents of the two villages were allegedly triggered by traditional activities carried out by residents of Bombai village. That is in the form of installing customary prohibition or ''sasi adat'' on the border of the two villages. This sparked the anger of the villagers of Elat, resulting in attacks against each other. Elat village itself is one of two villages inhabited by Bandanese Muslims, in addition to the Eli village. Murad Ismail (born 11 September 1961) is an Indonesian politician and policeman, who is serving as the current Governor of Maluku. The Mobile Brigade Corps ( id, Korps Brigade Mobil) abbreviated Brimob is the special operations, paramilitary, and tactical unit of the Indonesian National Police (Polri).
