2022 GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup
The 2022 Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup was the twelfth season of the GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup since its inception in 2011 as the Blancpain Endurance Series. The season began on 1 April at Imola and ended on 2 October at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. In a change from the 2021 schedule, the round at the Nürburgring was moved to the Hockenheimring. On 29 October 2021, a second change to the schedule was announced, moving the opening round from Monza to Imola and staging the event one week earlier. GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup
The GT World Challenge Europe Endurance Cup, formerly for sponsorship reasons the Blancpain Endurance Series from 2011 to 2015 and Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup from 2016 to 2019, is a sports car racing series developed by Stéphane Ratel Organisation, SRO Motorsports Group and the Royal Automobile Club of Belgium (RACB) with approval from the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA). It features grand tourer racing cars modified from production road cars complying with the FIA's GT3 regulations. The series's goal is to be an Endurance racing (motorsport), endurance racing championship for GT3 cars, similar to the FIA World Endurance Championship which were using GTE cars and Le Mans Prototypes (now GT3 and Le Mans Hypercars). The series was primarily sponsored by Swiss watchmaker Blancpain, and the company's Lamborghini Super Trofeo series serve as support races. Jim Pla (born 6 October 1992 in Béziers) is a French racing driver. Career Formula Renault Campus France Pla began his formula racing career in the 2007 Formula Renault Campus France season. Steijn Schothorst (born 14 October 1994) is a former Dutch racing driver. His father Jeroen, his brothers Pieter and Freek, and his nephew Bas Schothorst are also active in Dutch motorsport.
