2022 Camden London Borough Council Election
The 2022 Camden London Borough Council election took place on 5 May 2022. All 55 members of Camden London Borough Council were elected. The elections took place alongside 2022 London local elections, local elections in the other London boroughs and 2022 United Kingdom local elections, elections to local authorities across the United Kingdom. In the 2018 Camden London Borough Council election, previous election in 2018, the Labour Party (UK), Labour Party maintained its control of the council, winning 43 out of the 54 seats with the Conservative Party (UK), Conservative Party forming the primary opposition with seven of the remaining seats. The Liberal Democrats (UK), Liberal Democrats and Green Party of England and Wales, Green Party were also elected to the council, with three seats and one seat respectively. The ''Camden New Journal'' is a British independent newspaper published in the London Borough of Camden. It was launched by editor Eric Gordon in 1982 following a two-year strike at its predecessor, the ''Camden Journal''. Felicity Marion Peel Rea (née Corbin; born 1938), known as Flick Rea, is an English Liberal Democrat politician who represented the Fortune Green ward on Camden Council for 35 years, before her retirement in 2021. Early life and education Rea, originally named Marion Felicity Peel Corbin, was the daughter of Lieutenant Colonel Peel Corbin and his wife. Her father, a descendant of Sir Robert Peel, was headmaster at Huish's Grammar School. His daughter was educated at Weirfield School in Taunton. Labour and Co-operative Party (often abbreviated to Labour Co-op; ) is a description used by candidates in United Kingdom elections who stand on behalf of both the Labour Party and the Co-operative Party. Candidates contest elections under an electoral alliance between the two parties, which was first agreed in 1927. This agreement recognises the independence of the two parties and commits them to not standing against each other in elections. 2010 Camden London Borough Council Election
The 2010 Camden Council election took place on 6 May 2010 to elect members of Camden London Borough Council in London, England. The whole council was up for election and the Labour Party gained overall control of the council from no overall control. No Overall Control
In the context of local authorities in the United Kingdom no overall control (NOC; ) is a situation in which no single political group achieves a majority of seats, comparable to a hung parliament.
