2022 Atlas 100
The 2022 Atlas 100 was the 14th stock car race of the 2022 ARCA Menards Series season, and the 40th iteration of the event. The race was held on Sunday, August 21, 2022, in Springfield, Illinois at the Illinois State Fairgrounds Racetrack, a 1-mile (1.6 km) permanent oval-shaped dirt track. The race was decreased from 100 laps to 73 laps, due to time constraints with the Disturbed concert. In a dominating fashion, Jesse Love, driving for Venturini Motorsports, would lead every single lap, and earn his second career ARCA Menards Series win, and his first of the season. To fill out the podium, Buddy Kofoid, driving for Venturini Motorsports, and Ryan Unzicker, driving for Hendren Motorsports, would finish 2nd and 3rd, respectively. The race was marred following a crash on the last lap. On the final lap, teammates Jesse Love and Buddy Kofoid were battling for the lead. Jesshill Michael Gregory Love Jr. (born January 14, 2005) is an American professional stock car racing driver. He competes full-time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, driving the No. 2 Chevrolet Camaro (sixth generation), Chevrolet SS for Richard Childress Racing and part-time in the NASCAR Cup Series, driving the No. 33 Chevrolet Camaro (sixth generation)#ZL1, Chevrolet ZL1 for RCR, and the No. 62 Chevrolet Camaro (sixth generation)#ZL1, Chevrolet ZL1 for Beard Motorsports. Fast Track Racing (also known as Fast Track High-Performance Racing or Fast Track Racing Enterprises) is an American professional stock car racing team that currently competes full time in the ARCA Menards Series and ARCA Menards Series East, fielding the Nos. 9, 10, 11, and 12 for various drivers. They also compete part-time in the ARCA Menards Series West. Wayne Peterson (born May 24, 1938) is an American professional stock car racing owner/driver and former paratrooper and United States Army Special Forces member. He currently operates Wayne Peterson Racing, a team in the ARCA Menards Series. Military career Peterson grew up in a poor family in Boaz, Alabama, and when he was 15 years old, his high school was visited by Army National Guard recruiters. Attracted by the benefits of food and clothing, he enlisted and entered active duty at 16, but was sent back to school upon the discovering of his age. Zachary Tinkle (born July 3, 2002) is an American professional stock car racing driver. He competes full-time in the ARCA Menards Series East, and part-time in the ARCA Menards Series, driving the No. 11 Toyota Camry for Fast Track Racing. "Fish-Fin" is a designation or nickname given by Mayanist epigraphers (inscription scholars) to a personage whose undeciphered name-glyph appears in the epigraphic record in association with the Emblem glyph of Bonampak, a pre-Columbian Maya civilization site in present-day Chiapas, Mexico. This individual, identified as a ruler of the Bonampak polity or government, is mentioned in the Maya inscriptions at Yaxchilan, another Maya site located some 30 km to the north of Bonampak. Occurrence On the inscription from a lintel in the building known as Yaxchilan Structure 12, Fish-Fin is named in association with " Knot-eye Jaguar", the ninth king in Yaxchilan's dynastic succession who reigned from about 508–518 CE. Alex J. Clubb (born October 23, 1991) is an American professional stock car racing driver who competes full-time in the ARCA Menards Series, driving the No. 03 Ford for his family-owned team, Clubb Racing Inc.
