2021 Russian Cup
The 2021 Cup of Russia in artistic gymnastics, Russian Cup was held in Novosibirsk, Russia between 6 and 12 June 2021. Medalists Olympic team selection After the conclusion of the competition, the teams and individuals were selected to represent Russian Olympic Committee athletes at the 2020 Summer Olympics. For the men: Nikita Nagornyy, David Belyavskiy, Aleksandr Kartsev, and Artur Dalaloyan were named to the four person team with Vladislav Poliashov and Denis Ablyazin selected to compete as individuals. For the women: Angelina Melnikova, Viktoria Listunova, and Vladislava Urazova were named to the four person team with the fourth spot going to either Elena Gerasimova or Lilia Akhaimova. The athlete not chosen for the team went as an individual along with Anastasia Ilyankova. Ivan Alexeyevich Stretovich (; born 6 October 1996) is a Russian artistic gymnast. He won a silver medal in the team event at the 2016 Summer Olympics. Competitive history Career Stretovich started gymnastics at six years old when his mother took him to a gym club. He won gold at his first competition. He trains in Moscow, with the other members of the Russian team, and in Novosibirsk. His gymnastics idol is Hiroyuki Tomita. Artur Grachyevich Dalaloyan (Russian: Артур Грачьевич Далалоян) born 26 April 1996 is a Russian artistic gymnast who represented ROC at the 2020 Summer Olympics. He was part of the teams who won gold at the 2020 Olympic Games and 2019 World Championships and silver at the 2018 World Championships. Individually Dalaloyan is the 2018 World All-Around Champion and the 2019 World All-Around silver medalist. He is a nine-time World medalist and a five-time European champion. Russian Olympic Committee Athletes At The 2020 Summer Olympics
Prior to the 2019 decision by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), the Russian Federation was expected to compete at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, which took place from 23 July to 8 August 2021 because of the COVID-19 pandemic. It would have been the country's seventh consecutive appearance at the Summer Olympics as an independent nation; however, their athletes were entered and represented under the "Russian Olympic Committee", using the acronym "ROC", due to the consequences of the doping scandal in the country. The team finished fifth in the medal standings with 20 gold and 71 total medals, winning 1 gold medal and 15 total medal more than five years prior. Ivan Vitalievich Kuliak (; born 28 February 2002) is a Russian artistic gymnast. He is the 2019 Russian Junior all-around and floor champion and the horizontal bar silver medalist. In March 2022, he gained notoriety for displaying a pro-invasion Z symbol during a medal ceremony, shortly after the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
