2021 Pacific Four Series
The 2021 Pacific Four Series was the first edition of the Pacific Four Series. The soft launch of the competition involved only Canada and the United States contesting two matches in Glendale, Colorado. The winner would be determined on aggregate score. Canada won the two matches on an aggregate of 22–41. Australia and New Zealand were initially confirmed to join the competition, but because of the COVID-19 pandemic, World Rugby World Rugby is the world governing body for the sport of rugby union. Karen Paquin
Karen Paquin (born August 3, 1987) is a Canadian rugby union player. Known for her power and speed, she is skilled at both the sevens and 15s version of the game. International play She represented at the 2014 Women's Rugby World Cup. She was a member of Canada's women's sevens team that were runners-up at the 2013 Rugby World Cup Sevens in Russia. She won a gold medal at the 2015 Pan American Games as a member of the Canadian women's rugby sevens team. In 2016, Paquin was named to Canada's first ever women's rugby sevens Olympic team. Suffering a knee injury at the 2017 Women's Rugby World Cup, Paquin underwent surgeries and rehabilition for three years before returning to the pitch. Julianne Zussman
Julianne Zussman (born January 23, 1987) is a Canadian rugby union player and referee. She represented at three World Cups. She was named as fullback on the dream team of the 2014 Women's Rugby World Cup. In 2016, she was the recipient of the Gillian Florence Award from Rugby Canada. She is the assistant coach of the University of Victoria women's rugby program. Zussman attended McGill University, where she attained a Bachelor of Arts degree in international development. Katherine Zackary (born July 26, 1989) is an American rugby sevens player. She debuted for the United States in 2016 and for the sevens team in 2010. She won a silver medal at the 2015 Pan American Games as a member of the United States women's national rugby sevens team. Zackary attended Salina South High School and Benedictine College where she initially played soccer. She attended college on a soccer scholarship and it was there that she saw rugby. She played rugby for the Benedictine Saints. In 2014 she quit her job working in a gym to train full-time with the women's Eagles sevens team.
