2020 LINAFOOT (Chad)
The 2020 LINAFOOT was the 4th season of the LINAFOOT, the top Chadian league for association football clubs since its establishment in 2015. Unlike the 1st LINAFOOT edition (in 2015) organised as a full national championship and won by Gazelle FC, this edition was organized under the play-off formula. Delayed due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the season started on 27 September 2020 and concluded on 8 October 2020. Gazelle won their fourth Chadian title. Events In zone 1, Mirim Mongo was the representative; Renaissance FC Abéché, as a champion, was zone 2 representative. The zone 3 was represented by its champion As Santos Moussoro. In zone 4, Espoir FC Bongor and AS Mairie Binder were the two representatives. Zone 5 also had two representatives, those were Or Noir FC from Doba and Djarabé FC from Moundou. Chad Premier League (french: Ligue Nationale de Football, also known as LINAFOOT) is a Chadian league for men's association football clubs. At the top of the Chadian football league system, it is the country's primary football competition. Contested by 12 clubs, it operates on a system of promotion and relegation with Division 2. Unlike the 1st LINAFOOT edition (in 2015) organised as a full national championship and won by Gazelle FC, the last three editions were organized under the play-off formula. Since the inception of the Chad Premier League in 1988, eight clubs have won the title: Renaissance (7), Elect-Sport (6), Tourbillon (5), Gazelle (4), Foullah Edifice (3), AS CotonTchad (2), Postel 2000 (2), Renaissance (Abéché) (2). Gazelle FC is a football club from Chad based in N'Djamena. The club currently play in the Chad Premier League, the top flight of Chadian football. Gazelle FC was founded on May 16, 1972 in the capital city of N'Djamena. The club has won four national titles and six national cup titles. The club's colours are traditionally black and white. The 2020–21 CAF Confederation Cup (officially the 2020–21 Total CAF Confederation Cup for sponsorship reasons) was the 18th edition of Africa's secondary club football tournament organized by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), under the current CAF Confederation Cup title after the merger of CAF Cup and African Cup Winners' Cup. Renaissance FC or RFC is a football (soccer) club from Chad based in N'Djamena. The club won Chad Premier League 7 times, last time in 2007. Recently, it produced few Chad national football team players, such as Mondésir Alladjim, Yaya Kerim, Esaie Djikoloum and Hassan Diallo. The club's colours are traditionally green and red. Association Sportive CotonTchad is a football club from Chad based in N'Djamena. History ASCOT won national championship 2 times; in 1996 and 1998. The club also won national cup three times; in 1995, 1999 and 2009. ASCOT represented Chad in CAF Confederation Cup 2 times; in 2007 and 2010. Foullah Edifice Football Club is a football (soccer) club from Chad based in N'Djamena. They had a few Chadian national team players, like Mbaya Brice, Massama Asselmo, Ferdinand Gassina and Hassan Hissein. The club's colours are sky blue and white.
