2020 Indonesian Film Festival
The 40th Citra Awards, presented by Indonesian Film Board and Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology, honored the achievement in Indonesian cinema released from 1 October 2019 to 15 March 2020 screened at the theatres or direct to streaming platforms. The ceremony was held on 5 December 2020 at the Assembly Hall, Jakarta Convention Center, Jakarta, Indonesia, and presented by actors Chicco Jerikho, Laura Basuki, Reza Rahadian and Tissa Biani. Horror film ''Impetigore'' received a record of 17 nominations, besting the previous record of 14 set by '' Marlina the Murderer in Four Acts'' in 2018. The film won six awards, including Best Picture. ''Homecoming'' ( id, Mudik) is a 2019 Indonesian drama film, written and directed by Adriyanto Dewo. The film stars Asmara Abigail, Putri Ayudya, Ibnu Jamil, and Yoga Pratama. The film tells about mudik, a tradition where migrants return to their hometown before major holidays. Joko Anwar
Joko Anwar (born 3 January 1976) is an Indonesian film director, producer, screenwriter, and actor. Prior to becoming a filmmaker, he worked as a journalist and film critic. Anwar first rose to prominence for co-writing Nia Dinata's 2003 hit '' Arisan!'' which won five awards at the 2004 Citra Award. Yosep Anggi Noen (born 15 March 1983) is an Indonesian film director, producer, screenwriter, editor, and actor. With his 2019 film '' The Science of Fictions'', Noen won the Maya Award for Best Director and earned a Citra Award for Best Director nomination.
