Founders' Memorial MRT Station
Founders' Memorial MRT station is a non-operational underground Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) station on the Thomson–East Coast line in Marina East, Singapore. Construction began in 2019, and the station is scheduled to open in tandem with the Founders' Memorial in 2028. Ten Mile Junction LRT Station
Ten Mile Junction LRT station was an elevated Light Rail Transit (LRT) station on the Bukit Panjang LRT line in Choa Chu Kang, Singapore, that was in operation between 6 November 1999 and 13 January 2019. This LRT station was the only one that was air conditioned, inside a building ( Junction 10), had full height platform screen doors, faregates on the same level as the platform, and only one track. The two-car configuration was not deployed for the service and it provided a 20-minute frequency, which was lower than the other LRT stations. History The station and the building was located in Junction 10 (formerly known as Ten Mile Junction), which was named after the distance () of the junction located outside it as calculated from the city along Bukit Timah Road and Upper Bukit Timah Road. Sheng Siong Group Ltd. ( Chinese: 昇菘集团 Shēng Sōng Jítuán) is the parent company of Sheng Siong Supermarket Pte Ltd, commonly known as Sheng Siong, the third largest chain of supermarkets in Singapore. The supermarket chain also airs its own television variety programmes named "The Sheng Siong Show". History Sheng Siong is a chain of supermarkets in Singapore founded by Mr Lim Hock Chee and his two brothers, Mr Lim Hock Eng and Mr Lim Hock Leng. Channel 8 ( zh, 8頻道) is a Singaporean Mandarin-language free-to-air terrestrial television channel in Singapore, owned by state media conglomerate Mediacorp. The channel broadcasts general entertainment and news programming in the Mandarin language, including original and imported programming. The channel began a series of experimental broadcasts on 31 August 1963, and officially launched on 22 November 1963. As with its sister Channel 5, the channel would initially air programming in all four of Singapore's official languages, although having a particular focus on the Chinese and Tamil communities. In 1973, this scope was formalised, with Channel 8 primarily broadcasting Chinese and Tamil-language programmes. In compliance with the government's Speak Mandarin Campaign, Chinese programming on the channel would later be broadcast solely in Mandarin Chinese. VivoCity is a shopping mall located in the HarbourFront precinct of Bukit Merah, Singapore. It is the largest shopping mall in Singapore, with of net lettable area and of gross floor area spread over a three-storey shopping complex and two basement levels. It was designed by the Japanese architect Toyo Ito, and its name is derived from the word '' vivacity''. In December 2016, VivoCity was recognized by ''Forbes'' as one of the top shopping malls in Singapore. library@harbourfront, formerly known as Bukit Merah Public Library, is a public library located at VivoCity, Singapore. It is the largest shopping mall public library in Singapore. History Originally called Bukit Merah Branch Library, it serves the residents of Tanjong Pagar, Bukit Merah, Tiong Bahru and Telok Blangah. The library, which was situated at 3779 Jalan Bukit Merah, Singapore 159462, was officially opened on 28 December 1982 by the then Minister-without-Portfolio and Member of Parliament for Bukit Merah Mr Lim Chee Onn. On 29 December 1982, the library was open to public. It is the first branch library to have an audiovisual (AV) section. The library closed for renovation from 28 December 2004 to 25 February 2005.
