2019 Turkish Super Cup
The 2019 Turkish Super Cup (Turkish: TFF Süper Kupa) was the 46th edition of the Turkish Super Cup since its establishment as ''Presidential Cup'' in 1966, the annual Turkish football season-opening match contested by the winners of the previous season's top league and cup competitions (or cup runner-up in case the league- and cup-winning club is the same). It was played on 7 August 2019 between the champions of the 2018–19 Süper Lig and 2018–19 Turkish Cup, Galatasaray, and the runner-up of the 2018–19 Turkish Cup, Akhisarspor. The venue was the Eryaman Stadium in Ankara. Turkish Super Cup
The Turkish Super Cup (Turkish: ''TFF Süper Kupa''), as it is currently known, is the annual super cup football match contested between the previous season's Süper Lig champions and the Turkish Cup winners in Turkey. It was originally known as the ''Cumhurbaşkanlığı Kupası'' (Presidential Cup) from 1966 to 1998. No competition was held between 1999 and 2005, although there was a substitute competition played under the name of Atatürk Cup in 2000. The rebranded ''TFF Süper Kupa'' is a curtain raiser for the upcoming footballing season, usually taking place in August. In case of a team achieving the double, the Turkish Cup runners-up become finalists. The current holders are 2021–22 Süper Lig winners Trabzonspor, who won against 2021–22 Turkish Cup winners Sivasspor in the 2022 edition. Martin Linnes (born 20 September 1991) is a Norwegian professional footballer who plays as a right-back for Norwegian club Molde. Ahmet Yılmaz Çalık (26 February 1994 – 11 January 2022) was a Turkish professional footballer who played as a centre-back for Gençlerbirliği, Galatasaray, Konyaspor, and the Turkey national team. International career Çalık represented Turkey at the 2013 UEFA U-19 Championship and 2013 FIFA U-20 World Cup. On 6 November 2015, Çalık was selected for the Turkey national team to play friendlies against Qatar and Greece respectively. He made his debut in a 0–0 draw with Greece. Okan Kocuk (born 27 July 1995) is a Turkish professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for the Turkish club Samsunspor in the Süper Lig. Adem Büyük (born 30 August 1987) is a Turkish professional footballer who plays primarily as a striker but also as a left winger for Manisa. He is a former international for Turkey, also earning caps with the U-18 and U-21 squads. Club career Büyük started his career with local club Artvin Hopaspor. Jakup Jimmy Durmaz (born 22 March 1989), formerly known as Jimmy Touma, is a Swedish professional footballer who plays as a winger for Turkish club Fatih Karagümrük.
