2018 Team Speedway Junior European Championship
The 2018 Team Speedway Junior European Championship was the 11th Team Speedway Junior European Championship season. It was organised by the Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme and was the 7th as an under 21 years of age event. The final took place on 1 September 2018 in Daugavpils, Latvia. The defending champions Poland finally lost after six consecutive title wins. The winners were Denmark. Team Speedway Junior European Championship
The Team Speedway Junior European Championship is an annual motorcycle speedway event for junior riders. The event is organised by the European Motorcycle Union (UEM) from 2008 to 2012. From 2013 to 2020, it was organised by Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme. In 2021, the competition age limit increased to under 23 years of age. The first edition of the competition was in 2008 in Rawicz, Poland, which was won by the Swedish team. The next two editions were won by Poland team, and they have since gone on to claim a total of 12 titles. 2018 Team Speedway Junior World Championship
The 2018 Team Speedway Junior World Championship was the 14th FIM Team Under-21 World Championship season. The final took place on 18 August, 2018 at the Outrup Stadium in Outrup, Denmark. Poland won their 11th Team Under-21 World Championship, and their fifth in succession. The Poles accumulated 46 points, with Bartosz Smektała top scoring for them with 13 points. Anton Karlsson (born 20 July 2000) is a speedway rider from Sweden. Speedway career Karlsson came to prominence in 2018, when he won the silver medal at the Swedish Under 21 Championship. He also helped Sweden reach the final of the 2018 Team Speedway Junior World Championship. The following year in 2019 he won a bronze at the Swedish U21 event. Karlsson also competed for Sweden in the finals of the 2018 and 2020 Team Junior European Championship. Alexander Woentin (born 3 July 2000) is a speedway rider from Sweden. Speedway career Woentin came to prominence in 2017, when he qualified for the finals of both the World U21 Championship and the European U19 Championship. The following year he became a regular member of the Sweden national under-21 speedway team and helped them reach the 2018 Team Junior European Championship final.
