2018 IIHF World Championship Division I
The 2018 IIHF World Championship Division I was an international ice hockey tournament run by the International Ice Hockey Federation. The Group A tournament was held in Budapest, Hungary and the Group B tournament was held in Kaunas, Lithuania from 22 to 28 April 2018. Warsaw, Poland planned on bidding for the tournament, but as Poland had hosted both the 2015 and 2016 tournaments, decided to apply for a later year. Great Britain and Italy were promoted to the Top Division, while Poland was relegated to Division I B. The Group B tournament was won by Lithuania, who moved up to Group A and Croatia was relegated to Division II. 2017 IIHF World Championship Division I
The 2017 IIHF World Championship Division I was an international ice hockey tournament run by the International Ice Hockey Federation. Group A was contested in Kyiv, Ukraine from 22 to 28 April 2017 and Group B in Belfast, United Kingdom from 23 to 29 April 2017. South Korea and Austria were promoted to the 2018 World Championship. It marked the first time South Korea had earned promotion to the top tier of the World Championship. Robert Dowd (ice Hockey)
Robert Dowd (born 26 May 1988) is an English professional ice hockey player currently playing with UK Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL) side Sheffield Steelers. He also previously played in the HockeyAllsvenskan for IF Troja/Ljungby and Elite Ice Hockey League for the Sheffield Steelers and the Belfast Giants and is a three-time EIHL champion, twice with Sheffield in 2009 and 2011 and once with Belfast in 2012. He was the top British points scorer in 2012 with 72 points and was named British Player of the team. He is also a member of the Great Britain national ice hockey team. John Murray (ice Hockey, Born 1987)
John Murray (born July 4, 1987) is an American- Polish professional ice hockey goaltender currently playing for GKS Katowice in the Polska Hokej Liga. In 2014, he won the PHL playoff championship with Ciarko PBS Bank KH Sanok and again in 2018 and 2019 with GKS Tychy. He also plays for the Poland men's national ice hockey team. Playing career Junior Murray played minor hockey with the Philadelphia Jr. Flyers until the age of 16. At 16 years of age, Murray left home for Youngstown, Ohio, to play for the North American Hockey League's Youngstown Phantoms. He played in 21 games that season. For the next two seasons, Murray played for the United States Hockey League's Sioux Falls Stampede, where his teammates included T. J. Oshie, Andreas Nödl, Jay Barriball and Alex Kangas. Maxim Petrovich Semyonov (russian: Максим Петрович Семёнов; born 9 February 1984) is a Kazakhstani professional ice hockey defenceman who is currently an unrestricted free agent. Henrik Bjorn Karlsson (born 27 November 1983) is a Swedish-Kazakhstani former professional ice hockey goaltender. Ádám Vay (born 22 March 1994) is a Hungarian professional ice hockey goaltender. He currently plays with HK Poprad in the Slovak Extraliga. Playing career Amateur Vay's career began in the 2009–10 season when he was 15 years old.
