Jan Urbas
Jan Urbas (born January 26, 1989) is a Slovenian professional ice hockey player. He is currently playing with the Fischtown Pinguins in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL). Playing career He previously played with EHC München in the German Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL). On September 30, 2014, he opted to join EC KAC of the EBEL on a one-year contract. 2009–10 HockeyAllsvenskan Season
The 2009–10 HockeyAllsvenskan season was the fifth season of HockeyAllsvenskan, the second level of ice hockey in Sweden. 14 teams participated in the league, and the top four qualified for the Kvalserien, with the opportunity to be promoted to the Elitserien. Participating teams Regular season Playoffs Teams ranked 4th through 7th met in a best-of-three elimination playoff, the winner of which continued to the Elitserien qualifiers ( sv, Kvalserien). Starting with the following season, this playoff round was replaced by a double- round robin group stage. In the first round, Almtuna and Malmö each beat their opponents (Mora and Bofors), both 2–0 in games. Almtuna then beat Malmö 2–1 in games in the second round, to continue to the Elitserien qualifier. The 2008–09 HockeyAllsvenskan season was the fourth season of the HockeyAllsvenskan, the second level of ice hockey in Sweden. 16 teams participated in the league, and the top four qualified for the Kvalserien, with the opportunity to be promoted to the Elitserien. Due to the league reducing the number of teams from 16 to 14 teams for the 2009–10 season, the worst team ( Mariestad) was relegated to Division 1 while the other two worst teams, ranked 14–15 ( Huddinge and Nybro) had to play in the relegation round for survival in HockeyAllsvenskan. In the relegation round, only the best team ( Örebro) qualified for the following HockeyAllsvenskan season. J20 SuperElit
J20 Nationell is a junior ice hockey league composed of 20 teams in Sweden. Previously known as the J20 SuperElit, it is the highest-level junior ice hockey league in Sweden. The teams are divided in two groups, or divisions, ''Norra'' (North) and ''Södra'' (South), and are usually associated with a professional team in either the Swedish Hockey League (SHL) or HockeyAllsvenskan in order to develop talented youth for the professional teams. The winning team of the J20 Nationell playoffs is awarded the Anton Cup. Game format Each J20 Nationell game is an ice hockey game played between two teams and is 60 minutes long. J18 Elit
The J18 Region (Elit until-2020) is the highest level of under-18 ice hockey in Sweden. The league was first played in the 1980 season. Färjestad BK has won the most league titles, with seven. The league is divided into four divisions, Norra (North), Södra (South), Västra (West), and Östra (East). These divisions are played from September to December during the year. The five best teams from each division qualify for the Winter series known as J18 Allsvenskan, divided into Norra and Södra, while the remaining teams have to play in a continuation series during Winter for their specific division. The IF Malmö Redhawks (colloquially referred to simply as Malmö or by past abbreviation MIF) is a Swedish professional ice hockey team based in Malmö which plays in the SHL, with Malmö Arena as the venue for home games. Slovenian Hockey League
The Slovenian Hockey League is the highest level ice hockey league in Slovenia. The championship phase is contested after the regular season to determine the national champion. History The Slovenian Hockey League was firstly contested in the 1991–92 season, with the championship being held at the end as the play-offs. Over time, some Slovenian teams entered the Austrian Hockey League, and joined only for the play-offs. In the 2007–08 season there was an issue, as the Croatian team Medveščak qualified for the play-offs. Hokejski klub Olimpija ( en, Olimpija Hockey Club), currently named HK Slovenske železnice Olimpija due to sponsorship reasons, is an ice hockey club from Ljubljana, Slovenia. Penalty (ice Hockey)
A penalty in ice hockey is a punishment for an infringement of the rules. Most penalties are enforced by sending the offending player to a penalty box for a set number of minutes. During the penalty the player may not participate in play. Penalties are called and enforced by the referee, or in some cases, the linesman. The offending team may not replace the player on the ice (although there are some exceptions, such as fighting), leaving them short-handed as opposed to full strength. When the opposing team is said to be on a '' power play'', they will have one more player on the ice than the short-handed team. The short-handed team is said to be "on the penalty kill" until the penalty expires and the penalized player returns to play. While standards vary somewhat between leagues, most leagues recognize several common varieties of penalties, as well as common infractions.
