2018 European Darts Trophy
The 2018 European Darts Trophy was the thirteenth of thirteen PDC European Tour events on the 2018 PDC Pro Tour. The tournament took place at the Lokhalle, Göttingen, Germany from 12–14 October 2018. It featured a field of 48 players and £135,000 in prize money, with £25,000 going to the winner. Michael van Gerwen was the defending champion after defeating Rob Cross 6–4 in 2017's final. Van Gerwen won his third consecutive European Darts Trophy title and his 28th European Tour title in total after an 8–3 win over James Wade in the final. Prize money This is how the prize money is divided: Prize money will count towards the PDC Order of Merit, the ProTour Order of Merit and the European Tour Order of Merit, with one exception: should a seeded player lose in the second round (last 32), their prize money will not count towards any Orders of Merit, although they still receive the full prize money payment. Peter Stuart Wright (born 10 March 1970) is a Scottish professional darts player who competes in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events, where he is currently ranked PDC Order of Merit, world number fourteen; he was ranked world number one on two occasions in 2022. Nicknamed "Snakebite", he is a two-time PDC World Darts Championship, PDC World Champion, having won the 2020 PDC World Darts Championship, 2020 and 2022 PDC World Darts Championship, 2022 World Championships. Ricky Evans (darts Player)
Richard Ian Evans (born 29 July 1990) is an English professional darts player who competes in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. Nicknamed "Rapid" Ricky Evans due to his very fast throwing speed, he was a semi-finalist at the 2024 UK Open. Evans made the quarter-finals at the 2019 European Championship and has been the runner-up at four Players Championship events on the PDC Pro Tour, as well as at two European Tours. In his youth career, Evans won two titles on the PDC Development Tour, and was the runner-up at the 2013 PDC World Youth Championship. John Henderson (darts Player)
John Henderson (born 4 May 1973) is a Scottish darts player who competes in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. He is the reigning World Seniors Matchplay and World Seniors Masters champion, as well as the 2024 World Seniors Darts Championship winner. Henderson also won the 2021 PDC World Cup of Darts partnering Peter Wright for Scotland. He reached the semi-finals at the 2017 World Grand Prix and the quarter-finals at the 2015 European Championship. Steve West (darts Player)
Steve West (born 5 June 1975) is an English darts player. He is the younger brother of 2003 World Master Tony West. BDO career West showed signs of a promising career quickly by reaching the final of the 2005 French Open, losing to local Dominique le Roy. He also reached the last 32 of the 2005 World Masters where he lost to Gary Anderson. In 2007, West reached another Open final in the 2007 Dutch Open, one of the BDO's biggest Open tournaments. Amongst his scalps were Dutchmen Co Stompé and Edwin Max before losing in the final to Scott Waites. Max Hopp
Max Hopp (born 20 August 1996) is a German professional darts player who competes in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events. He won 2 ranking PDC titles in 2018, becoming the first German to win a Pro Tour event and the first to win on the PDC European Tour. In his youth career, Hopp won the 2015 PDC World Youth Championship and a title on the PDC Development Tour. David Chisnall (born 12 September 1980) is an English professional darts player who competes in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events, where he is currently ranked world number twelve; he reached a peak ranking of world number five in 2017 and 2024. Darren Michael Webster (born 10 June 1968) is an English darts player who is nicknamed Demolition Man. Career Webster won the 2005 Open Oust Nederland, beating Co Stompé in the final. Originally nicknamed The Sniper, Webster reached the quarter-finals of the 2007 PDC World Darts Championship, where he beat former champion Bob Anderson, Adrian Gray and South African Wynand Havenga, before being beaten 5–1 by Phil Taylor. Joseph Cullen (born 13 July 1989) is an English professional darts player who competes in Professional Darts Corporation (PDC) events, where he is currently ranked world number twenty-four.
