2017–18 Süper Lig
The 2017–18 Süper Lig, officially called the Spor Toto Süper Lig İlhan Cavcav season, was the 60th season of the Süper Lig, the highest tier Association football, football league of Turkey. The season was named after İlhan Cavcav, the longtime chairman of Gençlerbirliği S.K. Teams *Sivasspor, Yeni Malatyaspor and Göztepe S.K., Göztepe achieved promotion from 2016–17 TFF First League. Sivasspor made an immediate return, whereas Yeni Malatyaspor promoted to the top level for the first time in their history. Süper Lig
The Süper Lig (, ''Super League''), also known as Trendyol Süper Lig for sponsorship reasons, is a professional association football league in Turkey and the highest level of the Turkish football league system. In the 2023–2024 season, twenty clubs compete, where a champion is decided and three clubs are promotion and relegation, promoted from, and another four relegated to the TFF First League, 1. Lig. The season runs from August to May, with each club playing 36 matches. Matches are played Friday through Monday. Adanaspor
Adanaspor Kulübü is a Turkish professional Association football, football club based in Adana; currently, they play in the TFF First League. The club was founded in 1954 by middle-class merchants and artisans in response to their perceived alienation within the city's then most popular club, Adana Demirspor, who were supported by workers, financed by landowners, and governed by Turkish State Railways, TCDD staff. Eskişehirspor Kulübü is a Turkish football club located in Eskişehir. Founded in 1965, Eskişehirspor competed in the top division of Turkish football for 16 years until they were relegated. After being out of the Süper Lig for 12 years the club won the TFF First League playoffs and were promoted in May 2008. Yeni Malatyaspor
Yeni Malatyaspor Kulübü is a Turkish professional football club based in Malatya. The club plays in the TFF First League, which is the second tier of football in the country. History Founded in 1986 as Malatya Belediyespor. Its primary colors are yellow, black, and red, although they originally wore orange and green. In 2022, the club's chairman Adil Gevrek resigned from his position, the same season the club guaranteed its relegation to the TFF First League. Sivasspor Kulübü, known as Net Global Sivasspor due to sponsorship reasons, is a Turkish sports club based in Sivas. The primary department of the club is men's football. Formed in 1967, its football department has competed in Süper Lig since the 2017–18 season. İlhan Cavcav (4 October 1935 – 22 January 2017) was the chairman of Turkish club Gençlerbirliği in Ankara, Turkey for almost 40 years until his death. He was known for his hard negotiation tactics with the big clubs in Turkey and scouting abilities especially for discovering talent from Africa. Personal life Cavcav was a Kosovo Albanian from Pristina. His father Haşim had 2 wives and 17 children. He owned a flour mill in Mamak and a small bakery shop. Cavcav left school at the age of 14 in order to help support the family and started to work with his father as a cashier in the mill. In 1960, he formed his own business and in 1969 he opened his own more modern flour mill in Ankara (Ankara Un Sanayii). On September 19, 1976, Cavcav was on route to Antalya aboard a Boeing 727, but Cavcav changed his plans, deboarded in Istanbul, and flew to Ankara instead.
