2017 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships
The 2017 Artistic Gymnastics World Championships was the forty-seventh edition of the Artistic Gymnastics World Championships. The competition was held from October 2–8, 2017, at the Montreal Olympic Stadium, Olympic Stadium in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The event marked the first time since 2003 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships, 2003 that the Championships had been held in North America. Montreal was also the host of the 1985 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships, 1985 World Championships and the 1976 Summer Olympics. Artem Dolgopyat
Artem Olegovich Dolgopyat (; ; born 16 June 1997) is a Ukrainian-born Israeli artistic gymnast who specializes in the floor exercise. He is the 2020 Olympic champion and the 2023 World champion in the floor exercise. He also won two silver medals at the 2017 and 2019 World Championships in the floor exercise, and is the 2020 and 2022 European champion of that exercise. Dolgopyat won the silver medal in Men's floor representing Israel at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Early life Dolgopyat was born in Dnipropetrovsk (now Dnipro), Ukraine. Epke Jan Zonderland (born 16 April 1986) is a Dutch artistic gymnast and the 2012 Olympic gold medallist on high bar. He is a 4-time Olympian (2008–20) and has also taken 3 World Championships golds on high bar at the 2013, 2014 and 2018 World Championships, the first man to secure this feat on that apparatus. Tin Srbić (born 11 September 1996) is a Croatian artistic gymnast. He is the 2017 World champion on the horizontal bar and the first Croatian to win a gold medal at the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships. Oleg Yuriyovych Verniaiev (; born 29 September 1993) is a Ukrainian artistic gymnast. He is the 2016 Olympic parallel bars champion and individual all-around silver medalist. Verniaiev is also the 2014 World parallel bars champion, the 2015 European individual all-around champion and the 2017 European individual all-around champion. Liu Yang (; born 11 August 1994) is a Chinese artistic gymnast. He is the two-time Olympic and two-time world champion on rings. He was a member of the Chinese team who won gold at the 2014 World Championships and silver at the 2023 World Championships.
