2017 W-League Grand Final
The 2017 W-League grand final was the final match of the 2016–17 W-League season and decided the champions of women's football in Australia for the season. The match took place at nib Stadium in Perth, Western Australia on 12 February 2017 and was played by Perth Glory and reigning league champions Melbourne City. The match was won by Melbourne City 0–2, who recorded their second consecutive league championship. The match marked the second time both clubs qualified for a Grand Final, Perth having lost in the 2014 final and Melbourne qualifying for their second consecutive final after winning the 2016 final. The player of the match award was won by Jessica Fishlock of Melbourne City. At the time, the attendance of 4,591 was a record for W-League grand finals. Canberra United FC
Canberra United Football Club is an Australian professional soccer club based in Canberra, Australian Capital Territory. Founded in 2008 by Capital Football, the club was an inaugural member of the W-League and the only club not affiliated with an A-League Men team. Natasha Rigby
Natasha Rigby (born 24 January 1993) is a former Australian soccer player who played for Perth Glory in the A-League Women. Early life Rigby grew up in Margaret River, a small town south of Perth. There was no girls' soccer team, and she played with the boys. Between the ages of 15 and 17, Rigby represented Western Australia in the National Youth Championships. At age 18, Rigby moved to Perth to study sports science at the University of Western Australia, where she also played in the state league. Vanessa Sue DiBernardo (born May 15, 1992) is an American professional soccer player who plays as a midfielder for Kansas City Current of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL). Nicole Leslie Stanton (born October 26, 1990) is an American professional Association football, soccer player who plays as a Midfielder (association football), midfielder for Vancouver Rise FC of the Northern Super League. Kim Marie Carroll (born 2 September 1987) is a retired Australian soccer player who played in the A-League Women for Perth Glory and for Brisbane Roar, as well as playing for Fortuna Hjørring in the Danish Women's League.
