Natasha Rigby
Natasha Rigby is an Australian soccer player who plays for the Perth Glory in the W-league. Rigby grew up in Margaret River, a small town south of Perth. There was no girls' soccer team, and she played with the boys. She moved to Perth to study sports science at university, and was given an opportunity with the Glory for the 2016–17 W-League season. She started as a squad member, and worked her way on to the bench and finally into the starting team. Rigby played a role in Glory's 2016–17 run to the grand final, which they lost to Melbourne City. Following Sam Kerr's move from Perth to Europe, Rigby took over the role of captain for the 2019–20 season. It competes in the country's premier men's competition, A-League Men, under licence from Australian Professional Leagues. The Women's Super League (WSL), currently known as the Barclays Women's Super League (BWSL) for sponsorship reasons, is the highest league of women's football in England. Established in 2010, it is run by the Football Association and features twelve fully professional teams. The league replaced the FA Women's Premier League National Division as the highest level of women's football in England, with eight teams competing in the inaugural 2011 season. In the WSL's first two seasons, there was no relegation from the division. 2019–20 W-League
The 2019–20 W-League season was the twelfth season of the W-League, the Australian national women's association football competition. Nine teams competed in the league, with most of the players from Australia but 33 of them from 11 other countries. Melbourne City was undefeated through the regular season, the third time this has occurred in the W-League and the second time it has been achieved by Melbourne City. The 2019–20 Australian bushfire season has had a significant impact on the season. Samantha May Kerr (born 10 September 1993) is an Australian professional football player who plays as a forward for Chelsea in the FA Women's Super League and the Australia women's national team (the ''Matildas''), which she has captained since 2019. As of 2022, Kerr is the all-time leading Australian international scorer, and is the all-time leading scorer in the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL) in the United States.
