2017 TCR International Series Dubai Round
The 2017 TCR International Series Dubai round was the tenth and final round of the 2017 TCR International Series season. It took place on 18 November at the Dubai Autodrome. Pepe Oriola won the first race starting from fourth, driving a SEAT León TCR, while Stefano Comini gained the second one starting from second, driving an Audi RS3 LMS TCR. Jean-Karl Vernay won the Drivers championship, after out scoring main rival Attila Tassi in Race 1. Tassi then defended the runner-up spot in the championship from Stefano Comini, finishing just 1 point ahead of Comini, following Race 2. M1RA won the Teams championship, while the Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR secured the Model of the Year championship, in the second race. Dubai Autodrome
The Dubai Autodrome is an FIA sanctioned motorsports circuit located in Dubailand, Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The architects of the project were Populous and the circuit was designed by Clive Bowen of Apex Circuit Design. Opened in October 2004 with the final round of the LG Super Racing Weekend featuring the final rounds of the FIA GT Championship, European Touring Car Championship and 2004 Formula Renault V6 Eurocup season, Dubai Autodrome was the first part of the Dubai Motor City development that was available for use. The venue hosted the December 2005 A1 Grand Prix and the FIA GT Championship from 2004 to 2006. The track record at the longest configuration was set by Kamui Kobayashi (DAMS) with a time of 1:41.220 in a GP2 Asia car. James Nash (racing Driver)
James Nash (born 16 December 1985, in Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire) is a British auto racing driver. On 16 October 2011 at the final round of the 2011 BTCC season he clinched the independents' championship. In 2014, he is competing in the Blancpain Endurance Series for the Belgian Audi Club Team WRT. Racing career Early years Nash raced in karting until 2005 when he started racing in Formula Ford cars. He took one win, two poles, two fastest laps, one second and one third out of the six races in his first season. He was nominated for the McLaren Autosport BRDC Award in 2006. The ninth-generation Honda Civic is a range of compact cars (C-segment) manufactured by Honda between 2011 and 2017, replacing the eighth-generation Civic. It was launched in the North American market in April 2011, Europe in February 2012 and Asia-Pacific in early 2012. Four body styles were introduced throughout its production run, which are sedan, coupe, hatchback and a station wagon version marketed as the Civic Tourer. Daniel Lloyd (born 4 March 1992) is a British racing car driver and the 2009 champion of the Renault Clio UK Winter Cup. Lloyd was born in Huddersfield. After competing in the Skip Barber National Championship in the first half of 2010, he made his début in the British Touring Car Championship at Croft. In 2011 he raced in the Volkswagen Scirocco R-Cup, qualifying on pole in his debut race and eventually scored two victories and finished third in the championship. DG Sport Compétition is a Belgian auto racing team based in Theux, Belgium. The team has raced in the TCR International Series, since 2017. The Opel Astra is a compact car/ small family car ( C-segment) developed and produced by the German automaker Opel since 1991, currently at its sixth generation. Aurélien Comte (born 11 September 1988) is a French racing driver currently competing in the TCR International Series and the TCR BeNeLux Touring Car Championship. Having previously competed in the European Touring Car Cup, SEAT León Supercopa France and Renault Clio Cup France amongst others. Racing career Comte began his career in 2005 in Karting, he continued in karting until 2006. In 2006 he switched to the Renault Clio Cup France series, he continued in the series up until 2008 where he finished fourth in the championship standings having finished eighth in 2007. Benjamin Leuchter (born 22 November 1987) is a German racing driver currently competing in the World Touring Car Cup. Having previously competed in the ADAC TCR Germany Touring Car Championship, German Formula Three Championship and Formula BMW amongst others. Racing career Leuchter began his career in 2002 in Karting, he continued in karting until 2003. In 2004 he switched to the Formula BMW series, he finished the season nineteenth in the championship standings that year. The following year he only took part in the first eight races of the season, but still finished fifteenth in the Formula BMW standings in 2005. Robert Peter "Rob" Huff (born 25 December 1979) is a British professional racing driver. He currently competes in the World Touring Car Cup (WTCR) driving for Zengő Motorsport. He was the 2012 World Touring Car Championship champion and the 2020 Scandinavian Touring Car Championship champion. 2017 TCR International Series Zhejiang Round
The 2017 TCR International Series Zhejiang round was the ninth round of the 2017 TCR International Series season. It took place on 8 October at the Zhejiang International Circuit. Gabriele Tarquini won the first race starting from fourteenth position, driving a Hyundai i30 N TCR and Robert Huff gained the second one, starting from tenth position, driving a Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR. Ballast Due to the results obtained in the previous round, Attila Tassi and Norbert Michelisz both received +30 kg, while both Giacomo Altoè and Dušan Borković received +10 kg.
