DG Sport Compétition is a Belgian auto racing team based in Theux, Belgium. The team has raced in the TCR International Series, since 2017. The also races in the TCR Benelux Touring Car Championship and Belgian Rally Championship. Having previously rallied in the European Rally Championship. TCR Benelux Touring Car Championship Having first entered the championship in 2016, running a single Opel Astra TCR. The team finished second in the drivers championship with drivers Pierre-Yves Corthals and Frédéric Caprasse, as well as finishing third in the teams' championship. The team took six victories and seventeen podium finishes. They returned in 2017 running an Opel Astra TCR for Maťo Homola and 2016 driver Frédéric Caprasse and a Peugeot 308 Racing Cup for Aurélien Comte and Kevin Abbring. World Touring Car Cup
The FIA World Touring Car Cup (abbreviated to WTCR, referring to the use of TCR regulations) was an international touring car championship promoted by Eurosport Events and sanctioned by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA). It has had different incarnation of a World Touring Car Cup held between 1993 and 1995. Following the 2017 season, an agreement was reached for the World Touring Car Championship (WTCC) to become WTCR and use the TCR technical regulations. As factory teams were not allowed to compete in WTCR, the series lost the 'World Championship' status of the WTCC, instead becoming a 'Cup'. 2016 TCR Benelux Touring Car Championship
The 2016 TCR Benelux Touring Car Championship is the first season of the Champions. The season started on 21 May at Spa-Francorchamps and ended on 30 October at Mettet. Teams and drivers Michelin is the official tyre supplier. ;Notes: Calendar and results The 2016 schedule consists in six rounds in the Benelux region, across Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg. Each round includes five races: a 60-minute-long qualifying race with a mandatory driver change, and four 20-minute-long sprint races. The starting grid for the qualifying race is established by a popular vote via Facebook, through the ''Making the Grid'' application. Race 1 uses the fastest lap of after the pit stop during the qualifying race to determine the starting grid. Race 3 uses the fastest lap of before the pit stop during qualifying race.
