2017 Formula Masters China
The 2017 Formula Masters Series season was the seventh and final season of the Formula Pilota China series, and the first under the Formula Masters Series branding. The championship began on 8 April at the Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia and finished on 24 September at the Shanghai International Circuit in China, after eighteen races held at five meetings. As per the regulations, each round will have two to three 25-minute races and one shorter 15-minute race, with a different set of points awarded for each format. Formula Masters China, FMCS () (previously known as Formula Pilota China), was a single-seater racing series based in Asia. The series was created in 2011 after the success of the Formula Abarth championship that was created a year before. Event schedule Each event in the championship is normally run to a three-day schedule. It comprises two free practice sessions on the first day, one qualifying session and 45–55 km or 25-minute race on the second day, and a 45–55 km or 25-minute race on the third day. The grid for the second race is determined by the fastest lap in the first race; if drivers set equal times, priority will be given to driver who set the time first. The Shanghai International Circuit (), also called the SAIC Shanghai International Circuit () for sponsorship purposes, is a motorsport race track, situated in the Jiading District, Shanghai, China. Yu Kuai (; born 28 January 2001 in Shanghai), also known as James Yu, is a Chinese racing driver who last raced for Audi Sport Asia Team Absolute in GT World Challenge Asia. He is the 2023 Sepang 12 Hours winner and is also an Audi Sport Asia Young Driver. Early career Born in Shanghai, Yu moved to Japan in 2011 to start his karting career, where he competed against Yuki Tsunoda, Marino Sato and Nirei Fukuzumi. Nazim Azman (born 17 August 2001) is a Malaysian people, Malaysian racing driver who competed in the 2024 Porsche Carrera Cup Asia for Sime Darby, Sime Darby Racing Team. Danial Nielsen Frost (born 18 October 2001 in Singapore) is a Singaporean race car driver. He currently competes in the Asian Le Mans Series driving for Graff Racing in the LMP3 class. Zhuhai International Circuit
Zhuhai International Circuit (ZIC) () is located at Jin Ding town in Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province, China. Motorsport started in Zhuhai when it hosted a race on its Zhuhai Street Circuit, street circuit in 1993. Racing continued there until 1996 when the motor racing circuit was constructed and became China's first permanent motor race track with Formula One in mind. The circuit was designed by Australian company Kinhill Engineers Pty Ltd, the same group which created the Formula One circuit in Adelaide Street Circuit, Adelaide.
