2016–17 Liga EBA Season
The 2016–17 Liga EBA season was the 23rd edition of the Liga EBA. This is the fourth division of Spanish basketball. Four teams will be promoted to LEB Plata. The regular season started in September 2016 and will ended in March 2017. The Final Stage to LEB Plata was played in April 2017. Format Regular season Teams are divided in five groups by geographical criteria. Groups A, C and D are divided in two. *Group A–A: Asturias, Galicia and Castile and León *Group A–B: Basque Country, Cantabria, Castile and León and Navarre *Group B: Community of Madrid, Castile-La Mancha and Canary Islands. *Groups C–A: Aragon, Catalonia and Balearic Islands. *Groups C–B: Catalonia and Balearic Islands. *Group D–A: Andalusia and Melilla. *Group D–B: Andalusia and Extremadura. *Group E: Valencian Community and Region of Murcia. The 2015–16 Liga EBA season is the 22nd edition of the Liga EBA. This is the fourth division of Spanish basketball. Four teams will be promoted to LEB Plata. Baloncesto Villa de Mieres 2012, also known as BVM2012, is a basketball team based in Mieres, Asturias, Spain, that currently plays in Primera División de Baloncesto. History Baloncesto Villa de Mieres was founded on January 2, 2012 with local support with the aim to recover the basketball experience in the municipality. In its first season, it only competed with junior and youth teams. The men's senior team started its way in the 2013–14 season, competing in the Asturian group of Primera División, after achieving a vacant berth in the league. BVM became the champion of the Regional group after winning all the twenty games it played, including the Final of the competition by 85–73 to Grupo Covadonga, and qualified to the promotion playoffs to Liga EBA. The team currently plays in league LEB Oro. History Founded in 1978 as Club Bosco-Salesianos, the club achieved its first success promoting to Segunda División in 1984. Club Basket Burgos 2002, also known by sponsorship reasons as Grupo de Automoción Santiago, was a basketball team based in Burgos, Castile and Lion, Spain, who currently plays in Liga EBA. History Basket Burgos 2002 was founded in that year with the aim of playing in the Provincial League of Burgos, that works independently of the Spanish league system.
