2016–17 EHF Challenge Cup
The 2016–17 EHF Challenge Cup was the 20th edition of the European Handball Federation's third-tier competition for men's handball clubs, which was won by Sporting CP running from 19 November 2016 to 27 May 2017. EHF Challenge Cup
The EHF European Cup is an annual men's handball club competition organised by the European Handball Federation (EHF). It is the third-tier competition of European club handball, after the EHF Champions League and the EHF European League. Founded in 1993 as the EHF City Cup, the competition was renamed the EHF Challenge Cup in 2000 before adopting its current name in 2020. History Before 2000, it was called EHF City Cup. The Valur men's handball is an Iceland professional team handball club from Reykjavík, that plays in the Úrvalsdeild karla. History The Valur men's handball team has a long history in Icelandic handball, the club is one of the most successful in the sport in Iceland: no team has won the Icelandic Championship and the Icelandic Cup as many times as the Valur men's team. The team's greatest achievement was undoubtedly reaching the final of the EHF Champions League in 1980, which it lost against the German TV Grosswallstadt. The final was played in the Munich Olympic Hall and was lost 21:12. Since then, no Icelandic club team has reached the finals of a European competition. RK Eurofarm Pelister II () is a team handball club from Bitola, North Macedonia. It serves as the second team for RK Eurofarm Pelister. History The original team was the first handball club in Macedonia, formed in 1946 under the name Pelagonija. It later changed its name to Pelister in 1955.
