2016 Port Vila Premier League
The 2016 Port Vila Premier League or 2016 TVL Premier League is the 22nd edition of the Port Vila Premier League, the highest tier of the Port Vila Football League The top four of the league qualify for the 2016 PVFA Top Four Super League and the two lowest team relegate to the 2017 TVL First Division while the number seven plays a play-off duel against the number two of the 2016 TVL First Division. Mauriki and Sia-Raga qualified for the league. Mauriki as champions of the 2014–15 TVL First Division while Sia-Raga became second, which means that the league has extended to 9 teams instead of 8. Before the season, the 2016 PVFA Cup will be held as an opening tournament for all the teams in the 3 highest divisions. Port Vila Football League, also known as the Digicel League or more simply, the Digicel Premier League is the main football competition in Port Vila, Vanuatu. It consists of 3 competitions: Port Vila Premier League, Port Vila First Division and the Port Vila Second Division. The league's domestic cup is the Port Vila FA Cup, in which all 3 divisions compete in. The Port Vila Premier League is considered to be the best football league in Vanuatu while the Port Vila Football Association is considered to be the main football association in Vanuatu. The top 4 of the Port Vila Premier League qualifies for the PVFA top four competition, and the winner of that competition is one of the two teams that takes part for Vanuatu in the OFC Champions League. Bong Kalo (born 18 January 1997) is a Ni-Vanuatu footballer who plays as a midfielder. Early career Kalo was born in the Port Vila suburb of Fresh Water 5. He started playing at Wan Smol Bag Futsal court. When he was 12 he joined Teouma Academy, the national football academy of Vanuatu. Club career Tafea Kalo joined Tafea in 2012.
