The 2015–16 Erovnuli Liga, Umaglesi Liga was the 27th season of top-tier Association football, football in Georgia (country), Georgia. FC Dila Gori, Dila Gori were the defending champions. The season began on 13 August 2015 and ended on 22 May 2016. It was a last season with an autumn-spring schedule before the changes of competition format to spring-autumn schedule from 2017 Erovnuli Liga, 2017 season. Erovnuli Liga
The Erovnuli Liga ( ka, ეროვნული ლიგა; ) is the top Division (sport), division of professional top tier Association football, football in Georgia (Country), Georgia. Since 1990, it has been organized by the Professional Football League of Georgia and Georgian Football Federation. From 1927 to 1989, the competition was held as a regional tournament within the Soviet Union. From 2017, the Erovnuli Liga switched to a spring-autumn system, with only 10 clubs in the top flight. Chele Arena
Chele Arena is a multi-use stadium in Kobuleti, Georgia. Built in 1967, it is used mostly for football matches and is the home stadium of FC Shukura Kobuleti. FC Dinamo Batumi also used it until 2020. The stadium is able to hold 6,000 people. After the reconstruction works were completed in September 2012, the stadium was named after Revaz Chelebadze Revaz Chelebadze ( ka, რევაზ ჩელებაძე; born 2 October 1955) is a Georgian retired footballer who played as a striker. Kobuleti ( ka, ქობულეთი, ) is a town in Adjara, western Georgia (country), Georgia, situated on the eastern coast of the Black Sea. It is the seat of Kobuleti Municipality and a seaside resort. Tengiz Burjanadze Stadium is a multi-use stadium in Gori, Georgia. It is used mostly for football matches and is the home stadium of FC Dila Gori. The stadium is able to hold 5,000 people. Givi Kiladze Stadium
Ramaz Shengelia Stadium ( ka, რამაზ შენგელიას სტადიონი) is a multi-use stadium in Kutaisi, Georgia used mostly for football matches. Being the home stadium of FC Torpedo Kutaisi, it was built in 1950 and further expanded in 1962. In 2010, when Torpedo returned to Umaglesi Liga, the arena underwent redevelopments. The stadium is able to hold 12,000 people. It was initially named after Givi Kiladze, however in 2016 it was renamed after Ramaz Shengelia, a former Soviet / Georgian football player who was born in Kutaisi and started his career at Torpedo. Sachkhere
Sachkhere ( ka, საჩხერე ) is a town at the northern edge of the Imereti Province in Western Georgia. It is the center of the Sachkhere Municipality. Farming is a major contributor to the economy of Sachkhere. FC Locomotive Tbilisi, commonly referred to as Lokomotivi or simply Loco, is a Georgian professional football club based Tbilisi. The club competes in the Erovnuli Liga 2, the second tier of Georgian football. During the existence of the USSR the club was a part of the Lokomotiv Voluntary Sports Society. FC Tskhinvali
FC Tskhinvali is a defunct Georgian football club, which in mid-2010s spent four seasons in the top tier of the national league. Despite the name, due to the enduring Georgian–Ossetian conflict they were unable to host their opponents in the city of Tskhinvali, playing home games instead in Georgian-controlled areas, mostly in Gori, Tbilisi and Rustavi. In early 2020, the club was disqualified from Liga 3 after their failure to solve a severe financial crisis. FC Shukura Kobuleti, commonly known as Shukura Kobuleti or simply Shukura, is a Georgian football club from Kobuleti, the second largest city in Adjara. After the 2023 season, the team was first relegated to Erovnuli Liga 2, the second tier of Georgian football, and later expelled to Liga 4. But they withdrew without playing a single match there. FC Kolkheti 1913, commonly referred to as Kolkheti Poti, is a Georgia (country), Georgian association football, football club based in Poti. The team competes in the Erovnuli Liga, the top division of Football in Georgia (country), Georgian football. Being registered in 1913, Kolkheti is considered one of the oldest clubs in the South Caucasus. They are the two-time winners of the Soviet republican championship.
