2014 Peruvian Segunda División
The 2014 Segunda División season, was the 69th edition of the second tier of Federación Peruana de Futbol. The tournament was played on a home-and-away round-robin basis. Teams Promotion and relegation (pre-season) A total of 16 teams played in the league, 2 more from the previous season. They include 10 sides from the 2013 season, four from the 2013 Copa Perú, and two relegated from the 2013 Torneo Descentralizado. Pacífico and José Gálvez were relegated from the 2013 Torneo Descentralizado. Pacífico made an immediately return to the Segunda División after being promoted the previous year. José Gálvez was relegated for the sixth time after a brief two-year tenure in the top division thus becoming the Peruvian side with the most promotions and relegations in history. Peruvian Segunda División
The Peruvian Second Division (; known simply as ''Second Division'', and Liga 2 Caja Cusco for sponsorship reasons), officially known as Liga 2, is the second-highest division in the Peruvian football league system. Founded in 1943, it is a professional and promotional division organized by the Peruvian Football Federation. Since 2025, it has been contested by 15 teams, with promotion to the Peruvian Primera División, Liga 1, and relegation to the Peruvian Tercera División, Liga 3. Centro Cultural Deportivo Los Caimanes, commonly known as Los Caimanes is a Peruvian football club, playing in the city of Puerto Etén, Chiclayo, Lambayeque. History The club was founded on the May 22, 1957 under the name of Club Cultural y Deportivo Los Caimanes de Puerto Etén in the city of Puerto Etén, Chiclayo, Lambayeque. In the 2011 Copa Perú, the club qualified to the National Stage, but was eliminated by Pacífico in the semi-finals. Club Atlético Minero is a Peruvian football club based in Matucana, located in the Department of Lima. It was founded in 1997 and was promoted to the Primera División Peruana in 2008 where it played for one season. It has played in the Peruvian Segunda Division ever since. Club Deportivo Serrato Pacasmayo, commonly known as Club Willy Serrato, is a Peruvian football club based in Pacasmayo, La Libertad. History Club Deportivo Social y Cultural Willy Serrato Puse was founded in 2012 after a group of businessmen from the Pimentel, Lambayeque region bought Club Corporación Espinoza's place in the local district League. Club Sport Unión Huaral, more commonly known as Unión Huaral, is a Peru, Peruvian association football, football club, from the city of Huaral. It was founded in 1947 and currently competes in the Peruvian Tercera División. History The Club Sport Unión Huaral was founded at the initiative of a group of enthusiastic young men who, meeting at the home of Don Nicolás Pintado, decided to form the neighborhood football team under the name of Club Unión, since most of them lived on Unión Street. 2014 Torneo Descentralizado
The 2014 Torneo Descentralizado de Fútbol Profesional (known as the 2014 Copa Movistar for sponsorship reasons) was the 98th season of the highest division of Peruvian football. A total of 16 teams competed in the tournament. The Torneo Descentralizado began on June 7 and ended on December 21 2014. Tournament modus The season was divided into three stages. The first two stages were two smaller Apertura and Clausura tournaments of 15 games each. Each team played other teams once during the Apertura tournament and during the Clausura tournament in a reversed order for a total of 30 matches each. In the third stage the championship was contested in a two-legged Play-off. The two teams ranked first at the end of the Apertura and Clausura tournaments moved on to the next round as long as they finished within the top eight teams in the aggregate table.
