2014 Oregon Legislative Election
The 2014 elections for the Oregon Legislative Assembly determined the composition of both houses of the state legislature for the 78th Oregon Legislative Assembly (2015–2016 term). The Republican and Democratic primary elections were held on May 20, 2014 with the general election following on November 4, 2014. The Democratic Party increased its 16-14 majority in the Senate to a supermajority of 18–12. In the House, the Democrats added one more seat and now holds a 35-25 majority. Oregon State Senate
The Oregon State Senate is the upper house of the statewide legislature for the US state of Oregon. Along with the lower chamber Oregon House of Representatives it makes up the Oregon Legislative Assembly. There are 30 members of the state Senate, representing 30 districts across the state, each with a population of 127,700. The state Senate meets in the east wing of the Oregon State Capitol in Salem. Oregon state senators serve four-year terms without term limits. In 2002, the Oregon Supreme Court struck down the decade-old Oregon Ballot Measure 3 (1992), Oregon Ballot Measure 3, that had restricted state senators to two terms (eight years) on procedural grounds. Lane County is one of the 36 counties in the U.S. state of Oregon. As of the 2020 census, the population was 382,971, making it the fourth-most populous county in Oregon. The county seat is Eugene. Hillsboro ( ) is the fifth-largest city in the U.S. state of Oregon and is the county seat of Washington County. Patricia R. Milne (born 1947/48) is an American politician from the state of Oregon. Jackie Winters
Jackie Winters (April 15, 1937 – May 29, 2019) was an American Republican politician in the U.S. state of Oregon. She served as a state senator, representing the 10th district in Salem.
