The match will be contested between the 2013–14 Azerbaijan Premier League champions Qarabağ and the 2013–14 Azerbaijan Cup champions Neftchi Baku. Azerbaijan Supercup
The Azerbaijan Supercup ( az, Azərbaycan Milli Futbol Superkuboku) was a football competition, held at the beginning of each domestic season and disputed between the winners of the Azerbaijan Premier League and the winners of the Azerbaijan Cup. It was held in 1993–1995 period as "Sahar" Supercup. From 1996 the competition became inactive. The competition was reestablished in 2013, although it is not held since. History Neftchi Baku holds the record for winning the Supercup the most times, winning it two times since the competition began in 1993. In 1994, Qarabağ were awarded automatically with the Supercup after the team won both the domestic title and the Azerbaijan Cup. In 2013, the Professional Football League of Azerbaijan decided to restore the Azerbaijan Supercup. Khazar Lankaran were the first winners of the restored Supercup. Gabala City Stadium
Gabala City Stadium is a multi-use stadium in Gabala, Azerbaijan. It is currently used mostly for football matches and is the home stadium of Gabala FK. The stadium has an all-seated capacity of 2,000 spectators. It is planned to start the reconstruction of the stadium in 2012 and expand the capacity of the stadium up to 15,000 seats. Qabala ( az, Qəbələ) is a city and the administrative centre of the Qabala District of Azerbaijan. The municipality consists of the city of Gabala and the village of Küsnat. 2013–14 Azerbaijan Premier League
The 2013–14 Azerbaijan Premier League is the 22nd season of Azerbaijan Premier League, the Azerbaijani professional league for association football clubs, since its establishment in 1992. Neftchi Baku are the defending champions, having won the previous season. Teams Kəpəz and Turan were relegated from the 2012–13 Azerbaijan Premier League. The format of the league will change as a total of 10 teams will contest the league, with the last two clubs relegated and no teams promoted from the first division. The competition format follows the usual double round-robin format. During the course of a season, which lasts from August to May, each club plays every other club four times, twice at home and twice away, for a total of 36 games. The Azerbaijan Cup 2013–14 is the 22nd season of the annual cup competition in Azerbaijan. The competition started on 23 October 2012 with three games in the First Round, with the fourth being played a week later on 30 October due to Ağsu's ground being used for the 2013 Azerbaijan Supercup. The 10 Azerbaijan Premier League teams entering at the last 16 stage, joining the four First round winners. The competition is scheduled to end on 28 May 2014 with the Final. Neftchi Baku are the defending champions. Twenty teams are scheduled to compete in this year's competition. The winner of the competition will qualify for the first qualifying round of the 2014–15 UEFA Europa League. First round The games were played on the 23 and 30 October 2013. Boyukagha Hajiyev ( az, Böyükağa Hacıyev; (20 April 1958 – 16 March 2018) was an Azerbaijani professional football player and manager. Early life and career Hajiyev began playing football at Araz-Naxçıvan, which participated in Soviet Second League. Gurban Osman oghlu Gurbanov ( az, Qurban Osman oğlu Qurbanov; born 13 April 1972) is an Azerbaijani football manager and former player who manages FK Qarabagh. He played as a forward. Starting out with local club Kur in 1988, Gurbanov had a decorated 18-year career. He scored 178 goals in 399 league matches. With 14 goals in 68 matches, he is also the Azerbaijan national team's all-time leading goalscorer in international matches. From 2017 to 2018 he was the manager of the Azerbaijan national team.
