2014 ASB Classic
The 2014 ASB Classic was a women's tennis tournament played on outdoor hard courts. It was the 29th edition of the ASB Classic, and was part of the WTA International tournaments category of the 2014 WTA Tour. It took place at the ASB Tennis Centre in Auckland, New Zealand, on 30 December 2013 to 4 January 2014. Second-seeded Ana Ivanovic won the singles title. Hardcourt
A hardcourt (or hard court) is a type of surface or floor on which a sport is played, most usually in reference to tennis courts. It is typically made of rigid materials such as asphalt or concrete, and covered with acrylic resins to seal the surface and mark the playing lines, while providing some cushioning. Historically, hardwood surfaces were also in use in indoor settings, similar to an indoor basketball court, but these surfaces are rare now. Tennis Tennis hard courts are made of synthetic/acrylic layers on top of a concrete or asphalt foundation and can vary in color. These courts tend to play medium-fast to fast because there is little energy absorption by the court, as with grass courts but unlike clay courts. Jamie Hampton
Jamie Lee Hampton (born January 8, 1990) is an American former professional tennis player. In July 2013, she reached her highest singles ranking of world No. 24. Due to many injuries, she needed to stop playing in 2014, and officially retired in 2020. Early life Hampton was born in Frankfurt, West Germany, because her father, a career US Army officer, was stationed in Germany at the time. Her mother is from South Korea. Soon after, the family moved to the United States. She lived in Enterprise, Alabama, until she was 13; then, she moved to Auburn, Alabama and trained with tennis coach Geoff Waring in Montgomery, Alabama. Johanna Larsson (; born 17 August 1988) is a Swedish former tennis player. Laura Robson (tennis)
Laura Robson (born 21 January 1994) is a British former professional tennis player. She debuted on the ITF Junior Circuit in 2007, and a year later won the 2008 Wimbledon Championships, Junior Wimbledon championships at the age of 14.
