2013–14 Baltic Basketball League
The 2013–14 Baltic Basketball League was the 10th anniversary season of the Baltic Basketball League. This time the format featured 21 teams – 6 from Lithuania, 6 from Estonia, 5 from Latvia, 2 from Kazakhstan and 1 from Sweden and Finland. For the regular season the teams were divided into three groups of seven teams and competed in a round-robin competition system, with each team facing their opponent twice. Top five teams of each group and the best sixth placed team qualified for the eight-finals. All play-off games were played in home-and-away series. The Finals were a Lithuanian clash as Šiauliai took the 2014 title by beating TonyBet 140–123 on aggregate score. Estonian team Tartu Ülikool/Rock won their second Baltic League bronze by beating Tampereen Pyrintö of Finland with aggregate score of 149–127. 2012–13 Baltic Basketball League
The 2012–13 Baltic Basketball League was the 9th season of the Baltic Basketball League. The Challenge Cup tournament was discontinued and the new format featured 23 teams – 9 from Lithuania, 8 from Estonia, 5 from Latvia and 1 from Kazakhstan. For the Regular season the teams were divided into three groups of six and one group of five. Top four teams of each group advanced to Last 16 where they were divided into four groups. Two best teams of each group advanced to the play-offs. All play-off games were played in home-and-away series. Ventspils became the first ever Latvian team to win the tournament by beating Lithuanian side Prienai 161–142 on aggregate score in the finals. Kalev/Cramo from Estonia won their first Baltic League medal by downing Latvian side Barons kvartāls 144–137 in the bronze medal playoffs. Latvijas Basketbola Līga
The Latvian Basketball League (LBL; lv, Latvijas Basketbola līga) also known as the '' Pafbet'' LBL for sponsorship reasons, is the national basketball championship in Latvia; composed of 6 teams. It is considered the biggest basketball league in Latvia. The LBL is a part of Latvian Basketball Association, which is the national governing body of basketball in Latvia. Its 6 teams are located in 5 cities; two in Riga, and one in Ventspils, Liepāja, Valmiera, and Ogre. The LBL season usually runs from September to April. BC Tallinna Kalev
Tallinna Kalev/TLÜ is a professional basketball club based in Tallinn, Estonia. The team plays in the Latvian-Estonian Basketball League and Korvpalli Meistriliiga (KML). Their home arena is the Audentes Sports Centre. History The team was founded in 2002 as Pirita. Coached by Kalle Klandorf, the team joined the top-tier Korvpalli Meistriliiga (KML) in the 2002–03 season. In 2002, Pirita reached the Estonian Cup final, but were defeated by University of Tartu 76–92. In 2008, Pirita joined the multi-sport club Kalev. The team adopted the name Tallinna Kalev prior to the 2008–09 season. BC Valga-Valka, also known as BC Valga-Valka/Maks & Moorits for sponsorship reasons, is a basketball club representing the twin towns of Valga, Estonia and Valka, Latvia. The team plays in the Latvian–Estonian Basketball League. Their home arena is the Valga Sports Hall. From 2015 to 2018 the team uniquely competed in both Estonian and Latvian domestic top leagues. Rapla KK, also known as Avis Utilitas Rapla for sponsorship reasons, is a professional basketball club based in Rapla, Estonia. The team plays in the Latvian–Estonian Basketball League. Their home arena is the Sadolin Sports Hall. History In 1996, Korvpalliklubi Rapla (Basketball Club Rapla) was founded as a division of the Rapla Sports School. BC Rakvere Tarvas is a professional basketball club based in Rakvere, Estonia. The team plays in the Latvian–Estonian Basketball League. Their home arena is the Rakvere Sports Hall. The Korvpalli Meistriliiga ( en, Basketball Champions League), known as the OlyBet Korvpalli Meistriliiga for sponsorship reasons, is the highest tier level and most important professional basketball league in Estonia. It is controlled by the Estonian Basketball Association. The first Estonian Basketball Championship tournament was held in 1925. During Soviet era (1941–1991) the league was called the Estonian Soviet Socialist Republic Championship.
