The 2013 FIM Ice Speedway World Championship was the 2013 version of FIM Individual Ice Racing World Championship season. The world champion was determined by ten races hosted in five cities, Krasnogorsk, Tolyatti, Assen, Inzell and Uppsala between 2 February and 24 March 2013. Individual Ice Racing World Championship
The Individual Ice Speedway World Championship is an Ice speedway championship held annually to determine an individual World Champion. History The first Championships were held in 1966. A European Championship was held for the two years preceding the World Championships.The event has been dominated by the Soviet Union/Russia, who have won all but seven of the World Championship titles since 1966. Sweden has won five times, Czechoslovakia twice and Finland once. Medalists In 2021 and 2022 Russian athletes competed as neutral competitors using the designation MFR (Motorcycle Federation of Russia), as the Court of Arbitration for Sport upheld a ban on Russia competing at World Championships. The ban was implemented by the World Anti-Doping Agency in response to state-sponsored doping program of Russian athletes. 2013 Speedway Grand Prix
The 2013 Speedway Grand Prix season was the 68th edition of the official World Championship and the 19th season of the Speedway Grand Prix era, deciding the FIM Speedway World Championship. It was the thirteenth series under the promotion of Benfield Sports International, an IMG company. The British rider Tai Woffinden became world champion, making him the first British rider to win the gold medal since Mark Loram in the 2000 Speedway Grand Prix. Jarosław Hampel won his third world championship medal, while Danish rider Niels Kristian Iversen won his first medal finishing third in the series. The 2013 Team Ice Racing World Championship was the 35th edition of the Team World Championship. The final was held on 25/26 January, 2013, in Sanok, in Poland. Russia won their 11th consecutive title and 19th title overall. Daniil Ivanov defeated Franz Zorn in the run off to determine the world champions after both nations ended with 55 points each.
