2012–13 Süper Lig
The 2012–13 Süper Lig (known as the ''Spor Toto Süper Lig'' for sponsorship reasons) was the 55th season of the Süper Lig, the highest football league of Turkey. Galatasaray are the defending champions. The season began on 17 August 2012 and ended on 19 May 2013. On 5 May, Galatasaray won a record 19th Turkish title after beating Sivasspor 4–2. Teams Samsunspor, Manisaspor and Ankaragücü were relegated at the end of the 2011–12 season after finishing in the bottom three places of the standings. Ankaragücü concluded 31 years at top level, Manisaspor returned to second level after 2 years and Samsunspor immediately returned to second one. Süper Lig
The Süper Lig (, ''Super League''), also known as Trendyol Süper Lig for sponsorship reasons, is a professional association football league in Turkey and the highest level of the Turkish football league system. In the 2023–2024 season, twenty clubs compete, where a champion is decided and three clubs are promotion and relegation, promoted from, and another four relegated to the TFF First League, 1. Lig. The season runs from August to May, with each club playing 36 matches. Matches are played Friday through Monday. Run by the Turkish Football Federation, the league succeeded the Turkish Football Championship and the Turkish National Division, National Division, both being former top-level national competitions. Gaziantepspor was a Turkish football club located in the city of Gaziantep. Formed in 1969 and dissolved in 2020, Gaziantepspor were nicknamed the ''Şahinler'' (The Falcons). Elazığspor is a Turkish professional football club located in Elazığ and currently competes in the TFF Second League. Sivasspor Kulübü, known as Net Global Sivasspor due to sponsorship reasons, is a Turkish sports club based in Sivas. The primary department of the club is men's football. Galatasaray were the defending champions, but Fenerbahçe matched their league title record of 19 after drawing 0–0 with Çaykur Rizespor on 27 April. Teams İstanbul BB, Orduspor and Mersin İdman Yurdu were relegated at the end of the 2012–13 season after finishing in the bottom three places of the standings. İstanbul B.B. was at top level for six years, Orduspor and Mersin İY returned to second level after two years.
