2012–13 GlobalPort Batang Pier Season
The 2012–13 GlobalPort Batang Pier season was the franchise's first season in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). The team took over the Powerade Tigers after its sale to Sultan 900 Capital. Although it did not qualify for the Philippine or Commissioner's Cups, it was a quarterfinalist for the Governors' Cup. Glenn Capacio
Glenn Capacio (born May 15, 1964, in Palo, Leyte) is a Filipino retired professional basketball player in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) and the former head coach of PBA team GlobalPort Batang Pier and was also the former head coach of the FEU Tamaraws from 2007 to 2010. College and amateur career Capacio was the FEU Tamaraws' skipper during the 1983 UAAP season and the most dependable performer for rookie coach Bong Chua. He started his basketball career at Far Eastern University under coach Arturo Valenzona for two years and a year under coach Chee Poblete. He studied at Leyte Institute of Technology during high school and later moved to Manila and joined the Trinity College team for a year until graduation before moving on to FEU. The Meralco Bolts is a professional basketball team in the Philippine Basketball Association. The team began in 2010 after the Manila Electric Company (MERALCO) acquired the PBA franchise of the Sta. Jondan Y. Salvador (born October 12, 1980) is a Filipino professional basketball player who last played for the Marikina Shoemasters of the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL). The Araneta Coliseum, also currently known by naming rights sponsorship as Smart Araneta Coliseum, is an indoor multi-purpose sports arena that is part of the Araneta City in the Cubao area of Quezon City, Philippines. Willie V. Miller Jr. (born July 13, 1977) is a Filipino former professional basketball player. He last played for the Pilipinas MX3 Kings of the ASEAN Basketball League. He has started at the point guard position mostly but could also play the shooting guard spot. Miller has won four PBA championships and two PBA Most Valuable Player Awards. Miller played college basketball for Letran, where he was highly promoted in the national media as a future PBA superstar. After graduating, he was selected with the first overall pick in the 2001 PBA draft by the Thunder. Rommel Adducul
Rommel Adducul (born April 21, 1976) is a Filipino former professional basketball player who currently serves as an assistant coach for the Adamson Soaring Falcons of the UAAP. Career In college, Adducul, a three-time Most Valuable Player, led the San Sebastian Stags to five consecutive NCAA basketball championships from 1993 to 1997. He won the NCAA Seniors Most valuable Player (MVP) back-to-back from 1996 and 1997. At the same time, he was a star in the Philippine Basketball League playing for the defunct Chowking Food Masters, his UAAP counterpart at that time and later Arch-rival was Danny Ildefonso.
