2012–13 Derby County F.C. Season
The 2012–13 season was Derby County's 107th season in the Football League and their 114th overall in league football. It was their fifth consecutive season in the second tier following the previous campaign and their 45th overall. Nigel Clough described the season as being "Frustratingly close to being in the top six (but) we were also very pleased with the level of performances, home and away." Steve Nicholson of the ''Derby Telegraph'' added that Derby's 10th-placed finish was "thoroughly deserved" and noted that only the small size of the squad, combined with injuries and a lack of signings in the January transfer window, meant that the club did not qualify for the playoffs. He also praised Derby's home form, their best in six years, and noted that "foundations are in place" for a top six finish. Derby County F
Derby ( ) is a city and unitary authority area on the River Derwent in Derbyshire, England. Derbyshire is named after Derby, which was its original county town. The medial collateral ligament (MCL), also called the superficial medial collateral ligament (sMCL) or tibial collateral ligament (TCL), is one of the major ligaments of the knee. Shaun Barker (born 19 September 1982) is an English former professional footballer who played as a defender. Career Rotherham United Born in Trowell, Nottinghamshire, Barker started his career at Rotherham as a junior making his debut in March 2003 against Brighton & Hove Albion. John Metgod
Johannes Anthonius Bernardus Metgod (born 27 February 1958) is a Dutch former professional footballer who works as assistant manager of United Arab Emirates. Club career Playing as a centre-back, Metgod started his professional career in the 1970s playing for HFC Haarlem. After one season with Haarlem, he moved to play for AZ Alkmaar, spending six years at the club, including their UEFA Cup final defeat against English side Ipswich Town, during which he scored a goal in the 4–2 second leg win. Gareth Wyn Roberts (born 6 February 1978) is a Welsh former footballer. He played more than 600 league games in a 22-year career which has taken in eight different clubs, and was capped nine times for Wales. He was part of the Tranmere Rovers side which reached the club's first major cup final in 2000. Jake Buxton
Jake Fred Buxton (born 4 March 1985) is an English professional footballer and manager who plays as a defender. His playing career consisted of spells at Mansfield Town from 2002 to 2008, with a loan period at Alfreton Town in 2003. He then moved to Burton Albion for the 2008–09 season, before joining Derby County in 2009 where he stayed until 2016. He then spent the 2016–17 season at Wigan Athletic before moving to Burton Albion in 2017.
