Jake Buxton
Jake Fred Buxton (born 4 March 1985) is an English professional footballer and manager who plays as a defender. His playing career consisted of spells at Mansfield Town from 2002 to 2008, with a loan period at Alfreton Town in 2003. He then moved to Burton Albion for the 2008–09 season, before joining Derby County in 2009 where he stayed until 2016. He then spent the 2016–17 season at Wigan Athletic before moving to Burton Albion in 2017. He was named player-manager for Burton Albion in May 2020 before being dismissed in December 2020 this also coincided with the end of his playing career. He has since worked as a coach in Derby County's academy where he was lead coach for the clubs under-18 team, since July 2023 he has been the clubs under-21 lead coach. Nigel Clough
Nigel Howard Clough (born 19 March 1966) is an English professional football manager and former player who is the manager of Mansfield Town. Playing predominantly as a forward, but later in his career used as a midfielder, Clough was capped by England 14 times in the early 1990s. Clough was born in Sunderland, the son of Brian Clough who had been one of the most promising strikers in the English game until injury ended his career. Nigel was subsequently raised in Allestree, Derby, after his father became the manager of Derby County in 1967. Bass Charity Vase
The Bass Charity Vase is a friendly association football tournament founded in 1889 in Burton upon Trent to raise funds for medical and hospital charities. The trophy was donated by Lord Burton and Hamar Bass the great-grandsons of William Bass, the founder of the Bass Brewery. The trophy itself is made from gold and inscribed with the names of all previous winners. It is reputed to be one of the most valuable trophies in English football.
