Armenian First League
The Armenian First League () is currently the second level association football, football competition in Armenia after the Armenian Premier League. The competition exists mostly out of reserve teams of several Premier League clubs; however, other teams also participate. Alashkert FC
Football Club Alashkert (), commonly known as Alashkert, is an Football in Armenia, Armenian football club based in the capital Yerevan, founded in 1990 in Martuni, Armenia, Martuni and after folding in 2000 re-founded in 2011. They currently play in the Armenian Premier League. The home stadium of the team is the Alashkert Stadium in Yerevan. The club headquarters are located on Saryan street 25, Yerevan. Although based in Yerevan they are in fact named after the historic town of Alashkert in the Western Armenia, now Eleşkirt. Alashkert have won the Armenian Premier League title on four occasions and the Armenian Cup once. The club has also won the Armenian Supercup three times. They are owned by Bagrat Navoyan, a businessman and founder of Bagretour LLC, and have a cooperation agreement with the Brazilian club Botafogo de Futebol e Regatas, Botafogo since August 2017. Sport Club Mika (), commonly known as Mika, is an Armenian football club from the capital Yerevan. It was owned by the Mika Corporation LLC headed by the Russia-based Armenian businessman Mikhail Baghdasarov. The club headquarters were located on Manandyan street 41, Yerevan. History The club was founded on November 30, 1998, as Mika-Kasakh Ashtarak in the town of Ashtarak by the owner of Mika Corporation LLC, Mikhail Baghdasarov. In 2000, they achieved their first domestic title, winning the Armenian Cup. In 2007, Mika relocated from Ashtarak to Yerevan. They were based in their own newly built stadium in Yerevan. Football Club Pyunik (), commonly known as Pyunik (), is an Armenian professional sports club based in the Kentron neighbourhood of Yerevan. Pyunik is mostly known for its professional football team which, since its creation in 1992, has always played in the Armenian Premier League, becoming the most successful team of Armenia in number of official titles, with 34 won to date. Football Club Ararat Yerevan (), commonly known as Ararat Yerevan, is an Armenia, Armenian professional Association football, football club based in Yerevan that plays in the Armenian Premier League. Since 1999 the club has been owned by the Swiss-Armenian businessman Vartan Sirmakes. The badge shows a white eagle standing on a football and is a reference to the club nickname. Aragats Gyumri FC (), is a defunct Armenian football club from Gyumri, Shirak Province. Aragats FC was founded in 1967 as the reserves club of FC Shirak. Armenian Premier League
The Armenian Premier League (, known as the Armenian Fastex Premier League for sponsorship reasons) is the top association football, football competition in Armenia. From 1936 to 1991, the competition was held as a regional tournament within the USSR. Following Armenia's independence, the Football Federation of Armenia has been the governing authority of the league. Over the years, the league has evolved into a small league consisting of ten teams. The winner of the league is awarded a spot in the first qualifying round of the UEFA Champions League. 2012–13 Armenian Premier League
The 2012–13 Armenian Premier League season was the twenty-first since its establishment. The season began on 24 March 2012 and ended on 18 May 2013, with two scheduled breaks between 2–27 July 2012 and 3 December 2012 – 8 March 2013. Ulisses are the defending champions, having won their first league title last season. The league switched from a year-round to a fall-spring schedule. The title was won by Shirak. Competition changes The league changed its competition mode from that of a calendar year to a fall-spring schedule. As a consequence, this season will be longer than usual; every team will play six times against each other team, three times at home and three times away. Teams Because all of the club's in last year's First League competition were reserve teams of the Premier League clubs, there was no promotion or relegation between the two for this season.
