The Houston Mayoral Election of 2011 took place on November 8, 2011. The incumbent Mayor Annise Parker ran for a second two-year term in office and was re-elected. KHVU (91.7 FM broadcasting, FM, "Vida Unida 91.7") is a non-commercial radio, commercial radio station in Houston, Houston, Texas. It is owned by Hope Media Group, which owns Christian AC-formatted KSBJ, and airs a Spanish-language Christian adult contemporary radio format. The radio studio, studios and offices are on Treble Drive in Humble, Texas, near Bush Intercontinental Airport, and the transmitter is located off Sorters McClellan Road in Porter, Texas, Porter. The 91.7 frequency was established by Rice University as student-run KTRU. Rice sold the station in 2010 to the University of Houston, which ran it as classical music outlet KUHA. Jarvis Johnson
Jarvis Diallo Johnson (born September 27, 1971) is an elected official currently holding office as a Democratic member of the Texas House of Representatives. He has represented the 139th District since 2016. Johnson succeeded Sylvester Turner, who stepped down to serve as Mayor of Houston. He is a former District B District Council Member that served the term limit, three terms, in the city of Houston, Texas. Early years and career Johnson grew up in Houston's Fifth Ward. Houston City Council
The Houston City Council is a city council for the city of Houston in the U.S. state of Texas. Currently, there are sixteen members, 11 elected from council districts and five at-large. The members of the Council are elected every four years, with the most recent election being held in 2019 and the next being held in 2023 (all positions, along with that of the Mayor who is elected separately, are up for re-election at the same time). Council Members are limited to two terms of four years.
