2010 NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour
The 2010 NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour was the sixth season of the NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour (WSMT). It began with the Atlanta 150 at Atlanta Motor Speedway on March 5. It ended with the UNOH Southern Slam 150 at Charlotte Motor Speedway on October 14. George Brunnhoelzl III entered the season as the defending championship. Burt Myers would win his first championship in the series, 31 points ahead of series runner up L. W. Miller. Whelen Southern Modified Tour
The Southern Modified Auto Racing Teams (SMART) Tour is a Modified stock car racing series racing in the Southeastern United States, Southeastern region of The United States. The series began in 1989, NASCAR took over the series in 2005. During its time as a NASCAR sanctioned series it followed identical regulations to the Northern NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour. The series merged with the Northern Modified Tour in 2017 bringing an end to the series after almost 30 years. The series came back in late 2020 without NASCAR sanction under the SMART Tour name and ran its first full season since 2004 in 2021 with the likes of Bobby Labonte and Ryan Preece competing. Andrew T. Seuss (born March 15, 1987) is an American professional stock car racing driver and team owner. As a driver, he won two consecutive championships in 2014 and 2015 in the NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour, and also competed in the NASCAR Cup Series, NASCAR Truck Series, Whelen Modified Tour, ARCA Menards Series and what is now the ARCA Menards Series East. In a motorsports race, the pole position is usually the best and "statistically the most advantageous" starting position on the track. The pole position is usually earned by the driver with the best qualifying times in the trials before the race, although penalties may award it to the second fastest driver, as the pole position is statistically awarded to the driver starting in first position.
