Zach Brewer
Zachary Kyle Brewer (born November 29, 1979 – March 3, 2024) was an American professional stock car racing driver who competed in the now defunct NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour from 2007 to 2014. Brewer died on March 3, 2024, following a brief illness. Brewer previously competed in series such as the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour, the SMART Modified Tour, and the NASCAR Goody's Dash Series. Arcadia, North Carolina
Arcadia is an unincorporated community in Davidson County, North Carolina, United States. It is located in the northwestern section of the county along NC Highway 150. Neighboring communities and municipalities include Midway, Welcome and Winston-Salem. History The area was, in previous years, highly agricultural. However, this has changed due to an increase in housing development and the decreased viability of small scale agriculture. Small farms are not totally eradicated though, examples being Robana Farms and Twin Cedar Farm. Hampton House was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984. Orange County Speedway
Orange County Speedway is a asphalt oval in Orange County, North Carolina, near Rougemont. It first opened in 1966 as a and a dirt oval (Trico Speedway), which operated until 1967 and 1973, respectively. The facility was reopened and paved in 1983. With a slogan of "the fastest 3/8-mile race track in America," the oval features 19-degree banking through the turns and 16 degrees on the straightaways, creating three distinct grooves making for very fast turns. The aluminum grandstands stretch from Turn 4 all the way down the front straightaway to Turn 1. The speedway closed in 2003 but reopened on March 11, 2006. Kentucky Speedway
Kentucky Speedway is an inactive tri-oval intermediate speedway in Sparta, Kentucky. It has hosted various major races throughout its existence, including NASCAR and IndyCar races. The track is owned by Speedway Motorsports, LLC (SMI) and is currently used as a storage and parking lot for various companies. The speedway has a grandstand capacity of 66,000 as of 2020. Darlington Raceway
Darlington Raceway is a egg-shaped oval track in Darlington, South Carolina. The track has hosted a variety of racing events since its inaugural season of racing in 1950; primarily races sanctioned by NASCAR. The venue has a capacity of 47,000 as of 2021. Darlington Raceway is owned by NASCAR and led by track president Josh Harris. Darlington Raceway opened in 1950 under Darlington native Harold Brasington, who sought to replicate the success of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and the Indianapolis 500 in his hometown. Brasington quickly cut all ties with the facility, with Bob Colvin taking over control of the venue as president of the track. Under Colvin's tenure, the speedway underwent major expansion. Southern National Motorsports Park (formerly Southern National Speedway and Southern National Raceway Park) is a auto racing track in Lucama, North Carolina. History Southern National Motorsports Park hosted 4 NASCAR Southeast Series races between 1996 and 2002. The track also hosted 7 NASCAR Whelen Southern Modified Tour events between 2006 and 2014. The facility had one ASA National Tour race in 1998. Between 1997 and 2014, the track also hosted 15 CARS X-1R Pro Cup Series events. 11 different drivers had won races and some of them drove in NASCAR, like Mario Gosselin, Bobby Gill, Mark McFarland, Michael Ritch, Clay Rogers and Caleb Holman. South Boston Speedway
South Boston Speedway, or "SoBo", is a short track located just outside South Boston, Virginia. SoBo is located approximately east of another area familiar to most NASCAR fans, Martinsville. It is owned by Mattco, Inc., the Mattioli family trust that owns Pocono Raceway, with general manager Brandon Brown operating the track, replacing Cathy Rice who retired in 2021 after serving in that role for 21 years and Chase Brashears who was in the role for two years. NASCAR's three national series have raced at the track, though the Cup Series has not done so since 1971, while the Busch Series last raced there in 2000.
