2009–10 UAE Pro League
The 2009–10 UAE League season was the 35th edition of top-level football in the United Arab Emirates. This was the second professional season in the history of the country. Ahli Dubai were defending champions from the 2008–09 campaign. Al Khaleej and Al-Shaab were relegated from the previous season. Bani Yas Club and Emirates Club were promoted from the UAE Second Division. The winners of the league qualified for the 2010 FIFA Club World Cup as the host representative. Al-Wahda Club (Abu Dhabi)
Al Wahda Football Club () is an Emirati professional football club based in Abu Dhabi, that competes in the UAE Pro League. The club was founded in 1974 and plays its home games at the Al Nahyan Stadium. The club's colours are maroon, navy blue and white. History Foundation The first team created in Abu Dhabi was Al-Ahli in 1966, followed respectively by Al-Ittihad in 1968, Al-Falah and Al-Wahda in 1969. In 1974, a decision was made by the Minister of youth and sport to create Abu Dhabi SC by merging Al-Ittihad and Al-Wahda on 13 March 1974, and to create Al-Emirates SC by merging Al-Ahli and Al-Falah on 3 June 1974. Shabab Al Ahli Club () is an Emirati professional football club based in Dubai, that currently plays in the UAE Pro League. It is one of the most successful clubs in the UAE. Sheikh Khalifa International Stadium
Khalifa bin Zayed Stadium () is a multi-purpose stadium in Al Ain, the United Arab Emirates. History The first international football match to be played in Khalifa bin Zayed Stadium was the Qatar vs Egypt match on 2 October 2000. One of the prominent events to be staged on this stadium was the Group E matches of the 2003 FIFA World Youth Championship and the stadium also hosted some matches from the 1996 AFC Asian Cup. The stadium is used mostly for football matches, and is one of the home grounds of Al Ain FC. Winfried "Winnie" Schäfer (born 10 January 1950) is a German football manager and former player who is the technical director for the Ghana national football team. Abel Carlos da Silva Braga (born 1 September 1952), known as Abel Braga, is a Brazilian former football coach and player. He played as a central defender during a professional career that started with Fluminense in 1968. He earned one cap for Brazil, and was on the 1978 FIFA World Cup squad. Since his retirement in 1985, he has managed a number of clubs in Brazil and Portugal, including three spells at Fluminense. The 2010 AFC Champions League was the 29th edition of the top-level Asian club football tournament organized by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), and the 8th under the current AFC Champions League title.
