The 2009 season is the Puerto Rico Islanders 6th season in the USL First Division. James Marcelin (born 13 June 1986) is a Haitian professional footballer who last played for Canadian club FC Edmonton. Club career Early career Born in Saint-Marc, Haiti, Marcelin began his career with Roulado when he was sixteen, helping the team win the Ligue Haïtienne title in 2003, before moving to Racing Club Haïtien in 2007. Kyle Veris
Kyle Veris (born March 15, 1983 in Washington, D.C.) is an American soccer player. Career Youth and College Veris grew up in Strongsville, Ohio, and learned to play soccer in the Lake Erie Youth Premier Soccer League. He began his career as playing club soccer for Ohio Premier, winning many league championships and accolades. He ended his career in the LEYPSL playing with Cleveland United, another powerhouse team where he flourished under the Serbian coach, Joe Raduka and Josepphi Pavlek. Veris played high school soccer at Strongsville High School, and played college soccer at Akron for two years as a center forward before transferring to Ohio State in 2003. Sandy Gbandi
Sandy Gbandi (born July 12, 1983 in Harbel) is a Liberian former footballer. Career Early life and college Born near the Firestone rubber plantation, Gbandi and his family fled from his native Liberia to Houston, Texas following the outbreak of the First Liberian Civil War in 1989, when he was just six years old. Gbandi went on to attend Jersey Village High School, played club football for the Houston Dynamos and the Houston Texans as a youth, and played four years of college soccer at University of Alabama at Birmingham. Gbandi played in 56 games for UAB, scoring 10 goals and adding 14 assists. As a sophomore in 2004 he was selected First Team All-Conference USA and then was named Second Team All-Conference USA a year later. Justin Myers
Justin Myers (born January 15, 1985, in Phoenix, Arizona) is an American retired soccer player. Career College and amateur Myers grew up in San Diego, CA, attended Torrey Pines High School, and played three years as goalie at University of California, Berkeley. Professional Myers was signed by Chivas USA of Major League Soccer in 2007 as a backup goalkeeper, but never made a first team appearance for the side and was waived at the end of the season. In 2008 Myers was signed by the Puerto Rico Islanders of the USL First Division, and was subsequently sent on loan to Sevilla FC Puerto Rico following the Islanders regular reserve keeper, Michael Behonick, recovery from a leg injury. Fabrice Noël (born July 21, 1985 in Gressier) is a former Haitian footballer. Career Early life and career in Haiti Noël grew up poor in the village of Gressier, 12 miles west of Port-au-Prince. He began playing soccer at a very young age, taught by his mother and brothers. By the time he was 12 years old he was playing for the national team for 15-year-olds, and at the age of 16 he was one of the star players of Racing Club Haïtien, one of the country's most successful club teams. John Krause (born November 11, 1983 in Framingham, Massachusetts) is a Puerto Rican international footballer who most recently played for the Carolina RailHawks in the North American Soccer League. Career College and amateur Krause was born in Framingham, Massachusetts, the youngest son of M. Jan and Harold Krause's five sons. He was raised in Holliston, Massachusetts and attended The Rivers School, before playing college soccer for both Boston College and Vanderbilt University, and for Worcester Kings in the USL Premier Development League. Nicholas Addlery (born 7 December 1981 in Kingston) is a former Jamaican football player who is a former assistant for PDL club Peachtree City MOBA. Playing career Youth and College Addlery attended high school at Jamaica College, and played in the Manning Cup. Petter Villegas (born November 15, 1975 in Esmeraldas) is an Ecuadorian-born Puerto Rican footballer who played for Puerto Rico Islanders in the North American Soccer League. Career Youth and college Villegas came to the United States with his family as a child, settling in Newark, New Jersey. He attended Saint Benedict's Preparatory School, where he was a three-time New Jersey All State high school player, scoring 34 goals, assisted on 18 more in 1993. Career Youth and college Núñez moved with his family to the United States when he was nine years old, settling in Miami, Florida. Domenic Mediate (born June 1, 1982 in Sheridan, Wyoming) is a retired American soccer player who played for DC United in Major League Soccer and Puerto Rico Islanders of the USL First Division. Sean Fraser (born 15 February 1983) is a retired Jamaican soccer player who last played for Harbour View. Career Youth Fraser attended Camperdown High School, Vas Preparatory School, and attended Clarendon College in his native Jamaica, where he was a star player on the school's football team. Professional Fraser began his professional career on the Jamaica National Premier League, playing for Harbour View and Portmore United.
