2009 Commodore Cup National Series
The 2009 Commodore Cup National Series was the 16th running of the Commodore Cup. It began on 26 April 2009, at Wakefield Park and ended on 29 November 2009, at Sandown Raceway. The series was won by Brett Holdsworth, who won three of the six rounds. The other rounds were won by Nick Parker and Jason Domaschenz, who shared the victory at Winton with his brother Craig. Commodore Cup
The Commodore Cup was an Australian motor racing series. A one-make series originally devised by Victorian racers Maurie Platt and David Gittus, it was named for the car all competitors were required to use in competition, the Holden Commodore The Holden Commodore is a full-size car that was sold by Holden from 1978 to 2020. Steve Owen (born 18 December 1974) is an Australian racing driver, currently co-driving for Team Sydney in the No. 22 Holden ZB Commodore alongside Chris Pither. Andrew Fisher (racing Driver)
Andrew Fisher (29 August 186222 October 1928) was an Australian politician who served as the fifth prime minister of Australia, from 1908 to 1909, 1910 to 1913, and 1914 to 1915, holding office as the leader of the Australian Labor Party (ALP). In 1910 Fisher led Labor to its first federal election victory and first majority government. Fisher was born in Crosshouse, Ayrshire, Scotland. He left school at a young age to work in the nearby coal mines, becoming secretary of the local branch of the Ayrshire Miners' Union at the age of 17. Fisher immigrated to Australia in 1885, where he continued his involvement with trade unionism.
