2008–09 Kuwait Federation Cup
The 2nd Kuwaiti Federation Cup started on September 7, 2008. The Second Federation Cup is one of four competitions in the Kuwaiti 2008/2009 season. Fourteen clubs took part in the tournament. They were divided into two groups of seven, and the winner and runner-up of each group will advance to the semi-finals. Kuwait Federation Cup
The Kuwaiti Federation Cup () is a competition organised by the Kuwait Football Association, and has been played in its current format since 2008. The first edition of the Federation Cup was played in the 1969–70 season, although not much is known about the competition in the early years. The competition is for senior teams playing in the top tier Kuwait Premier League, although the 2015–16 edition saw the second-division Burgan enter. The cup competition is predominantly played during international breaks (group stage) and after league match days. the tournament was abolished at the end of 2015–16 season, but returned in 2017–18. Al Kazma Kuwait
Kazma Sporting Club () is a Kuwaiti professional football club. Founded in 1964, the club competes in the Kuwaiti Premier League. Club history Naming The club is named after the area of Kathma, which is located 40 kilometers north of Kuwait City, on the Kuwait coast. In 630 A.D., the battle of Chains took place in Kathma. Recent history On 21 December 2009, under head coach Ilie Balaci, Kazma played a friendly match against reigning La Liga champions FC Barcelona to commemorate the 45th anniversary of the club. Penalty Shootout (football)
In association football, a penalty shoot-out (previously known as kicks from the penalty mark) is a tie-breaking method to determine which team is awarded victory in a match that cannot end in a draw, when the score is tied after the normal time as well as extra time (if used) has expired. For example, in a FIFA World Cup, penalties are used in elimination matches; the round of 32, the round of 16, the quarter-finals, the semi-finals, and the final. In a penalty shoot-out, each team takes turns shooting at goal from the penalty mark, with the goal defended only by the opposing team's goalkeeper. Each team has five shots which must be taken by different players; the team that makes more successful kicks is declared the victor. Shoot-outs finish as soon as one team has an insurmountable lead. Al-Arabi Sporting Club () is a multi-sport club based in Mansuriya district of Kuwait City. The most notable section is its professional football team in the Kuwait Premier League.
