The 2008 Ms. Olympia contest is an International Federation of BodyBuilders, IFBB professional bodybuilding competition and part of Joe Weider's Olympia Fitness & Performance Weekend 2008 was held on September 26, 2008, at the South Hall in the Las Vegas Convention Center in Winchester, Nevada and in the Orleans Arena at The Orleans Hotel and Casino in Paradise, Nevada. It was the 29th Ms. Olympia competition held. Posedown
In bodybuilding and physique, a posedown is a free for all posing round in a bodybuilding or physique competition where the participants strike various poses, highlighting specific muscles and their overall physique. Posedowns are usually the final part of the competition and can often decide a close competition. Some competitors like to keep pre-set routine for the posedown in order to keep the flow going and show off their muscles. There are strategies competitors adopt during posedowns to best dominate or intimidate opponents, such as the forced perspective of posing as massive as possible and covering up other opponents on stage or forcing opponents into another pose, which can throw off their pre-set posing routine. For this reason, some competitors like to go through a spontaneous routine and keep the competition off-guard. Debbie Bramwell-Washington (born June 9, 1966) is an American professional female bodybuilder. Early childhood and education Born Debbie Topoozian, she was born on June 6, 1966, in Parsippany-Troy Hills, New Jersey, of Armenian, Romanian, Russian, English and French ancestry. In 1984, she graduated from Parsippany High School. While in school she excelled on the girls' softball team as a pitcher and claims that she was able to defeat most of the boys in her classes at arm wrestling. Brenda Raganot (born September 8, 1966) is an American professional female bodybuilder. Bodybuilding career Amateur In 1984, Raganot began training as a bodybuilder in high school. She was inspired after watching the film Pumping Iron 2, which featured bodybuilder Rachel McLish. In 1991, she began training under bodybuilder Debbie Houck, whom she credits with helping her progress from the amateur level to the professional ranks.
