2008 Green Bay Packers Season
The 2008 NFL season, 2008 season was the Green Bay Packers' 88th season in the National Football League (NFL), their 90th overall and their 3rd under head coach Mike McCarthy. The Packers were aiming to improve their 13–3 record from 2007 Green Bay Packers season, last season, but finished the season with a 6–10 record and missed the playoffs. Until the 2017 Green Bay Packers season, 2017 season, this was the last season in which the Packers did not qualify for the playoffs. It was the first season since 1991 that quarterback Brett Favre was not on the team's roster. Favre retired in March, decided to come back over the summer and was ultimately traded to the New York Jets after the team told Favre playing in Green Bay again was not an option. NFC North
The National Football Conference – Northern Division or NFC North is one of the four divisions of the National Football Conference (NFC) in the National Football League (NFL). Nicknamed the "Black and Blue Division" for the rough and tough rivalry games between the teams, it currently has four members: the Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions, Green Bay Packers, and Minnesota Vikings, with the latter three based within most definitions of the Upper Midwest. Breno Giacomini
Breno Gomes Giacomini (born September 27, 1985) is an American former professional football offensive tackle. He was selected by the Green Bay Packers in the fifth round in the 2008 NFL draft. He played college football at Louisville. Giacomini is of Brazilian descent. Along with Gary Barnidge of the Cleveland Browns, Giacomini founded American Football Without Barriers in 2011, a football-related charity foundation. The UCF Knights are the sport, athletic teams that represent the University of Central Florida in unincorporated Orange County, Florida near Orlando, Florida, Orlando. Josh Sitton
Josh James Sitton ( ; born June 16, 1986) is an American former professional football player who was a guard in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the UCF Knights and was selected by the Green Bay Packers in the fourth round of the 2008 NFL draft. He made four Pro Bowls and won Super Bowl XLV with the Packers, and also played two seasons with the Chicago Bears and one season with the Miami Dolphins. After 11 seasons in the NFL, Sitton announced his retirement on April 4, 2019. He officially retired with the Packers on December 4, 2019. He was inducted to the Packers Hall of Fame in 2023.
