The 2004–05 Erovnuli Liga, Umaglesi Liga was the sixteenth season of top-tier football in Georgia. It began on 31 July 2004 and ended on 30 May 2005. The Erovnuli Liga ( ka, ეროვნული ლიგა; ) is the top Division (sport), division of professional top tier Association football, football in Georgia (Country), Georgia. Since 1990, it has been organized by the Professional Football League of Georgia and Georgian Football Federation. From 1927 to 1989, the competition was held as a regional tournament within the Soviet Union. From 2017, the Erovnuli Liga switched to a spring-autumn system, with only 10 clubs in the top flight. History and format evolution The Erovnuli Liga ( ka, ეროვნული ლიგა) is the highest division of Georgian football, established in 1990 following the dissolution of the Soviet Union. FC Dinamo Batumi
FC Dinamo Batumi ( ka, საფეხბურთო კლუბი დინამო ბათუმი) is a Georgian professional football club based in Batumi, Adjara that competes in the Erovnuli Liga, the top division of the national football system. The club won the champion's title in 2021 and 2023, the Georgian Cup in 1997–98, and two Georgian Super Cups, in 1997–98 and 2022. In 1990, they changed their name to ''FC Batumi'', only to reverse the decision in 1994. Dinamo play their home matches at Batumi Stadium. The 2004–05 Georgian Cup (also known as the ''David Kipiani Cup'') was the sixty-first season overall and fifteenth since independence of the Georgian annual football tournament. The competition began on 25 August 2004 and ended with the Final held on 26 May 2005. The defending champions are Dinamo Tbilisi. Round of 32 The first legs were played on 25 August and the second legs were played on 3 September 2004. Round of 16 In this round entered winners from the previous round as well as three teams that finished at the top four in last year's Umaglesi Liga: WIT Georgia, Dinamo Tbilisi, FC Tbilisi and Dila Gori. Jaba Dvali (born 8 February 1985) is a Georgian former football player and current manager. Dvali has played in three countries as a forward. He is the four-time winner of the national league and two-time winner of the Georgian Cup. Dvali was a main goalscorer at Zestaponi during their "golden time" when the club twice in a row won the national league. David Odikadze
David Odikadze (born 14 April 1981) is a retired Georgian football player who played as a right-sided defender and right midfielder. Odikadze is the two-time winner of Umaglesi Liga with Dinamo Tbilisi. He has also secured the Azerbaijan Premier League, Georgian Cup and Georgian Super Cup titles. Career Odikadze started his career at STU in 1996. He spent most years at Dinamo Tbilisi and Chikhura whom he captained. Odikadze announced his retirement in April 2021 at age 39. Overall, during his 25 year-long career Odikadze took part in 472 matches in Georgian football leagues, scoring 76 goals. Otar Martsvaladze ( ka, ოთარ მარცვალაძე; born 14 July 1984) is a Georgian former professional footballer who played for the Georgia national team. Career Club Otar Martsvaladze was born in Tbilisi. He spent first four years of his professional career at WIT Georgia, where he secured championship title in 2004. Two years later Martsvaladze was named the best player of the season. He signed for Dynamo Kyiv along with countryman Kakhaber Aladashvili in 2006.
