Formula Renault 2.0 Italia was a Formula Renault 2.0 racing series that is based in Italy. The series raced mostly on Italian races but it had regular races at Belgium's Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps and in Spain. Several Formula One drivers raced in this series, including Felipe Massa, Kamui Kobayashi, Robert Kubica and Pastor Maldonado. Regulations Each championship round included 2 races lasting about 30 minutes. Points were awarded as follows: In each race, 1 bonus point was awarded for pole position and 1 point for fastest lap. Formula Renault are classes of formula racing popular in Europe and elsewhere. Regarded as an entry-level series to auto racing, motor racing, it was founded in 1971, and was a respected series where drivers can learn advanced racecraft before moving on to higher formulas. Renault now backs the French F4 Championship and Formula Regional European Championship. Atte Mustonen (born 16 September 1988 in Heinola, Finland), is a single-seater motor racing driver. Motorsport career Like many aspiring motor racing drivers, Mustonen began his career with kart racing at the age of 11. By 2002, his talent became evident when he won the ICA Junior Karting Championship in Finland, and successfully retained his title in 2003. The two back-to-back victories helped him to be named Finnish Karting Driver of the Year in 2003. The following year, 2004, was pivotal in Mustonen's career, with him winning the Finnish Formula A Championship and being named Finnish Karting Driver of the Year once again.
