Chris Smith (golfer)
Christopher McClain Smith (born April 15, 1969) is an American professional golfer who played on the PGA Tour and the Web.com Tour. Early life Smith was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, graduating from Rochester Community High School; during his sophomore season (1985), he was the Boys State High School Champion, in his senior season (1987), he finished as the state runner-up in the boys state golf championship. He was awarded the Fred Keesling Award following his high school career. Amateur career He attended Ohio State University, where he completed a successful collegiate career. He won seven individual titles, including the 1990 Big Ten Championship, the 1991 Robert Kepler Intercollegiate and 5 other events. Jeff Brehaut
Jeff Brehaut (born June 13, 1963) is an American professional golfer. Early life Brehaut was born in Mountain View, California, and attended the University of the Pacific, where he graduated in 1986 with a degree in Communications. Professional career Brehaut turned professional in 1986 and played on mini-tours until he started playing full-time on the Nationwide Tour in 1993. He played on the Nationwide Tour from 1993–98, picking up his only two wins in 1995 and 1997. He graduated from PGA Tour Q-School at the end of 1998 with a T23. Brehaut played his first full season on the PGA Tour in 1999, but was unable to keep his card. He played a select few events on the Nationwide Tour in 2000, but failed to make any cuts. Nike Upstate Classic
The BMW Charity Pro-Am is a golf tournament on the Korn Ferry Tour. It is currently played at Thornblade Club (host course) in Greer, South Carolina and The Carolina Country Club in Spartanburg, South Carolina. From 1992 to 2000, the event was played at Verdae Greens Golf Club in Greenville. When the event changed to a pro-am format in 2001, it moved to The Cliffs in Travelers Rest, South Carolina, using the Valley and Keowee Vineyards courses. The Walnut Cove course was added in 2005. In 2008, the tournament shifted to three different courses: Thornblade Club, Carolina Country Club in Spartanburg, South Carolina and Bright's Creek Golf Club in Mill Spring, North Carolina. In 2012, the Greenville Country Club (Chanticleer course) replaced Bright's Creek. The 2017 purse was $700,000, with $126,000 going to champion Stephan Jäger. Jeffrey Jackson Wedgwood Julian (July 29, 1961 – July 15, 2004) was an American professional golfer on the PGA Tour. Early life Julian was born in Portland, Maine. He was the grandson of famed basketball coach Doggie Julian. Amateur career Julian briefly attended Clemson University. However, he did not get a golf scholarship. He then attempted to walk on to the golf team but failed. He subsequently dropped out of university. Professional career Shortly after leaving university, Julian returned to New England and turned pro. Shortly thereafter, he earned his PGA of America class A status. Julian played on the PGA Tour's developmental tour, the Ben Hogan Tour, during its inaugural 1990 season. He did not have much success, making the cut in only three of 13 events. Amateur career Frazar was born in Dallas, Texas and was raised there and in Abilene, Texas.
