1995 Swedish Speedway Season
The 1995 Swedish speedway season was the 1995 season of motorcycle speedway in Sweden. Individual Individual Championship The 1995 Swedish Individual Speedway Championship final was held at the Kumla Motorstadion in Kumla on 2 September. Henrik Gustafsson won the Swedish Championship. U21 Championship Robert Eriksson won the U21 championship. Team Team Championship Rospiggarna won the Elitserien and were declared the winners of the Swedish Speedway Team Championship for the first time in their history. The Rospiggarna team included Greg Hancock, Erik Stenlund and Jason Crump. Dackarna won the first division, while Karlstad and Njudungarna won the second division A and B respectively. Three more teams introduced reserve teams called Wisby (Bysarna), Buddys (Team Viking) and Göteborg (Kaparna). The 1994 Swedish speedway season was the 1994 season of motorcycle speedway in Sweden. Individual Individual Championship The 1994 Swedish Individual Speedway Championship final was held in Västervik on 3 September. Tony Rickardsson won the Swedish Championship for the second time. U21 Championship Daniel Andersson won the U21 championship. Team Team Championship Örnarna won the Elitserien and were declared the winners of the Swedish Speedway Team Championship for the third successive year. The Örnarna team included Kelvin Tatum, Peter Karlsson, Christer Rohlén, Mikael Karlsson and Niklas Klingberg. Buddys changed their name to Team Viking. Rospiggarna won the first division, while Team Viking and Njudungarna won the second division A and B respectively. Dackarna
Dackarna is a speedway club from Målilla in Sweden who compete in the Swedish Elitserien. Their home track is at the Skrotfrag Arena which has been used as the venue for the Grand Prix of Scandinavia since 2005. History The team was founded in May 1935 as Målilla Motorklubb and in 1949 renamed itself Dackarna (in honour of Nils Dacke) and the club began league racing. Dackarna raced in the highest level of league racing in Sweden between 1951 and 1965, winning the league championship in 1957, 1958, 1959, and 1962, and finished as runners-up in 1956 and 1964. Dackarna switched between the first and second league for the next 30 years until 1997 when the team received the backing of a major new sponsor (Svelux) and were renamed Team Svelux. Svelux were taken over by Luxo in 2002 and the team name was changed to Luxo Stars. In 2006 the sponsorship deal expired and the team name reverted to Dackarna. Gregory Alan Hancock (born June 3, 1970 in Whittier, California) is an American former professional motorcycle speedway rider. As of 2023, he was one of only six riders to have won the individual World Championship four or more times. In addition to his four Speedway World Championships he won the Speedway World Team Cup with the USA speedway team on three occasions. Hancock appeared in all but one of the Grand Prix series, since its creation in 1995 until 2019. Elitserien (literally, "The Elite Series") ( sv, Elitserien i speedway) is the highest league in the league system of speedway in Sweden and currently comprises the top 7 Swedish speedway teams. The first season began in 1982. Rospiggarna is a motorcycle speedway team based in Hallstavik, Sweden. The club was founded in 1930 and were named ''Orion'', although it did not compete in the Swedish speedway leagues until 1966. The club joined the Swedish Division Three in 1966 and the team name was changed to ''Stjärnorna'' (English: The Stars). In 1978 the name was changed again to Rospiggarna which is the demonym for people from Roslagen, where Hallstavik is situated.
