1995 SEA Games
The 1995 Southeast Asian Games, officially known as the 18th Southeast Asian Games, Chiang Mai, 1995 ( th, การแข่งขันกีฬาซีเกมส์ ครั้งที่ 18 เชียงใหม่ 1995), was a Southeast Asian multi-sport event held in Chiang Mai, Thailand from 9 to 17 December 1995. It was the first time that a non-capital city hosted the biennial sports event. Chiang Mai is the second Thai city to host the Southeast Asian Games after Bangkok. The games were opened and closed by Vajiralongkorn, the then-Crown Prince of Thailand. With the return of Cambodia, all ten members of the federation were present to compete in the SEA Games for the first time. This was the fifth time that Thailand hosts the games. Chiang Mai
Chiang Mai (, from th, เชียงใหม่ , nod, , เจียงใหม่ ), sometimes written as Chiengmai or Chiangmai, is the largest city in northern Thailand, the capital of Chiang Mai province and the second largest city in Thailand. It is north of Bangkok in a mountainous region called the Thai highlands and has a population of 1.19 million people as of 2022, which is more than 66 percent of the total population of Chiang Mai province (1.8 million). Chonburi Province
Chonburi (, , ) is a province of Thailand (''changwat'') located in eastern Thailand. Its capital is also named Chonburi. Neighbouring provinces are (clockwise from north) Chachoengsao, Chanthaburi, and Rayong, while the Bay of Bangkok is to the west. Pattaya, a major tourism destination in Thailand, is located in Chonburi, along with Laem Chabang, the country's primary seaport. Southeast Asian Games
The Southeast Asian Games, also known as the SEA Games, is a biennial multi-sport event involving participants from the current 11 countries of Southeast Asia. The games are under the regulation of the Southeast Asian Games Federation with supervision by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA). The Southeast Asian Games is one of the five subregional Games of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA). The others are the Central Asian Games, the East Asian Youth Games, the South Asian Games, and the West Asian Games. Thai Greeting
The Thai greeting referred to as the ''wai'' ( th, ไหว้, ) consists of a slight bow, with the palms pressed together in a prayer-like fashion. It has its origin in the Indian '' Añjali Mudrā'', like the Indian ''namaste'' and Burmese ''mingalaba''. The higher the hands are held in relation to the face and the lower the bow, the more respect or reverence the giver of the ''wai'' is showing. The ''wai'' is traditionally observed upon formally entering a house. After the visit is over, the visitor asks for permission to leave and repeats the salutation made upon entering. The ''wai'' is also common as a way to express gratitude or to apologise. Origins The ''wai'' gesture originated in Buddhism and has similar origins as namaste in Hinduism. Bo Sang

Siamese Cat
The Siamese cat ( th, แมวไทย, Maeo Thai; แมวสยาม, Maeo Seeaam) is one of the first distinctly recognized breeds of Asian cat.
